Author note: Sorry for the long break.

Cal's Pov

"How was your date?" I ask

"I'm never going on a date again" She responded

"Wow, that bad?"

"She asked if I was broken because I said I wasn't attracted to her" Aj explained with a sigh

"Have you ever been attracted to someone, you were literally trained not to feel emotions and stuff" I said

"I mean yea but I still feel stuff for people and yes I've been attracted to people before." she said a bit muffled because she was still face down . "I mean at least I think I have, I find some people attractive and I've exhibited the symptoms of being attracted to someone. Although Guild Guardian Jojo shut that down immediately." this time lifting her head up.

"It takes more than that. Liking someone isn't science you can't just go off of what science says being attracted to someone says" I say as I get out from under the cover and lay down so my head is at the bottom of the bed like hers.

"Well that's stupid" she says, letting out a sigh and a small chuckle.

I looked up to see her eyes peering out to meet mine and before I could even comprehend what was happening AJ and I were kissing. After a couple seconds that honestly felt way longer and all too short at the same time, she pulled back and apologized and fled the room. I tried to follow after her but I heard her door close before I even got to the bottom of the stairs of the loft.

" for her not to have demon speed that girl can move." I said to myself as I walked back up the stairs and got in bed.

—-THE NEXT MORNING—-

I woke up and started getting ready for the day I passed Aj in the hallway on the way to the bathroom. I stopped to talk to her but she made a b line for her room. I finished getting ready and went downstairs and joined my family at the breakfast table. I could feel Aj's eyes on me, but whenever I looked at her she was never looking my way. We finally got done eating and set off to school. We walked in silence for a while, about 5 minutes from the school before I decided to say something "You know you can't just ignore me and hope I'll forget right?"

"No one's ignoring you Cal, or what happened" she said briefly and picked up her pace shortening a 5 minute walk to about 3.

I caught up to her in school. "If no one is ignoring it, why'd you pick up your pace like that?" I asked, giving her a smirk knowing I had her.

"Beeeeecause...because I have class that I don't want to be late to school.Bye" she said before walking away with the crowd.

That was the worst lie she could've come up with honestly but I'll let her have it because the class she was so "eager" to get is a class we share with Juliette.

I'm not usually one to lie, but I had to escape. I'm not one to make careless mistakes but I made a mistake last night, I let myself get distracted from the mission. I get to class and realize what class I just rushed to, I think about turning around right there but I know even if I did I'd have to come to class eventually so I just take my seat next to Juliette and get ready for class. Calliope walks in just as the bell rings,as I look up when we lock eyes she smirks at me and continues to her seat.

*The teacher begins passing out an assignment*

"I see you got to class with plenty of time to spare" Calliope says as she gets her supplies out for class
