It was close to sunset. Jake approached the hut. Tonowari and Ronal awaited him. He went to them. "My family and I will move on tomorrow. Far away from here. We've brought enough trouble to your people. And we'll take Payaka and Tsu'tey with us as well,"

"Your son, lies with our ancestors," acknowledged the chief. "You and your family are Metkayina now,". He offered a hand. Jake was touched. He was offering them to stay for good. He humbly accepted and shook it.

Lo'ak and Sylwa sat together facing the sunset. "I can't believe he's really gone,"

"Even if we were allowed to connect to the Spirit Tree, I don't know how to speak to him. I couldn't even face him,"

"Oh Lo'ak," she struggled to contain a sob. "What are we to do?"

He patted her back and they turned to each other. "We're gonna do what he did. We're gonna keep our family safe and we're gonna do with our friends. We'll honour his memory and one day we'll be together again,". He pulled her into a warm hug and rubbed her back.

More steps came and they saw it was Tsireya and Aonung. They sat beside each of them, offering comfort. "You doing okay?" Reya asked. Still sniffling, they nodded and Tsireya placed her hand over Sylwa's and Aonung patted Lo'ak's back.

"Is this how you guys felt?" Sylwa asked, hoping it wouldn't make them cry more. Exchanging tearful glances, the sea siblings remembered how much they grieved for their brother and nodded.

"Let us know if there's anything we can do," Aonung offered. "My father has decreed that you guys and your family are Metkayina now,"

The twins raised their heads in astonishment. "Really?"

"Your brother lies with our ancestors," acknowledged Tsireya. "This is officially your home now,"

"Our new home," the twins looked around at the majestic sea island they had grown to love. Even though they weren't really welcomed at first, they had grown to love it.

"I know it's not the same as the forest..."

"It is the same," said Sylwa. "Because what makes this place home is when you're with the people you love," she smiled affectionately at Tsireya. Their brothers sniggered and the sisters rolled their eyes at them. "What?"

Lo'ak saw their mother at the beach with their sisters. Exchanging glances with Sylwa, they nodded knowing their mother needed them now more than ever. They silently 'thanked' their friends and walked down to the shore.

Once they were out of ear range, Aonung pulled Tsireya to her feet to have a serious talk. "You and I both know you like Sylwa,"

"We're just friends,"

"No. I've seen the way you look at her. It's not like with the other girls on this island,"

"Even if it were true, which it isn't...I know for certain Mum would not approve,"

"How do you know that?"

"Because she doesn't like that Payaka has adopted Roa's calf and also...a pair like us wouldn't work out,"

"You don't know for sure. Listen, sis, if Tousal was here he'd be telling you to make a move and tell that girl how you feel. Give her time to mourn and when the time is right, tell her how you feel. Because if you don't, you will regret it for the rest of your life,"
