Then came the middle, the ice age. All who survived it sat right here in this cave. Which isn't a lot if you compare it to the 7.9 billion that once lived especially if you discount the ice babies, children born in the middle.

"Calling in Hana?!" Julia laughed, well used to Hana's daydreams

Hana looked up into Julia's warm brown eyes, they reminded her of the earth. Julia was like mother nature, warm, powerful, the way she saw the world just amazed Hana, they were truly polar opposites. Julia's hair draped over the sides of her face and ended just above her shoulders, it was like a river of honey running down her face and neck. Even in the cold shade she always looked warm, cozy, comfortable, happy. Hana joined in with the girls laughter as the watched Julia's nose scrunch up as she giggled, a sight she would never tire of seeing, a happy Julia.

However all of this happiness was cut short within a moment as they hear the roar of the Polar king. The animals were split into different caves too but they were all equal, each cave elected a king or queen every year to enter the government, the humans nightmare. The same government stood at the cave entrance right now. Polar king in the centre, to his left the desert queen and the king of insects, to his right the king of the cats, and the king of the forest. A scroll is passed to Elder Rune and as she opens it her face drops, her eyes brim with tears but the doesn't cry as the knows she cannot in the presence of the government, she reads.

"Tonight there is to be another sacrifice and we have chosen a human." the poor woman paused "Julia Amor"
