The people want to know.
Social media is buzzing.
The amount of messages, DMs, threats, I've received just today.
"The handsome Daniel Matthews called off the wedding with ex fiancé Rebecca Shepherd just three days before the wedding. Almost a month since then, and still there is no word. What's your top reason as to why that may be?" The TMZ reporter said. I scroll through the comments, scoffing at some of them, well more like majority of them.
It's hilarious that some people actually thought I was the problem. It's always the man right? Women can never do wrong.
"Danny? I brought something for you." I look up to Naomi, shutting down the laptop.
I narrow my eyes in confusion, wondering what it is she was hiding behind her back."What are you hiding?"
"Tada!" She shouts, pulling out a open bowl, filled with what smelled like freshly baked fudge brownies.
I smile at the bowl, taking it from her hands. Naomi was most definitely more than just my secretary. She was literally like family. Shocked that she hasn't married my uncle yet though, the old bachelor hasn't given up since. They would make a great couple, though. Plus he's only three years older than her; being fifty eight and him being sixty one.
"I know your meeting with Carson is soon, but with everything going on right now, I thought my Danny needed some cheering up."
"Thanks Naomi." I mean...even in sadness, you can't stop the addiction of the stomach.
A bright smile comes unto my face, as I bite into the brownie, the rich flavor almost making me forget all of my worries and pains.
"I'm glad to see you smiling again." She says and I give her a small smile.
"You're mother told me what happened." I frown."You don't need her." She says, waving her hand.
"She lost the best man in the whole world and will have to live with that for the rest of her life, and she knows it. That's why she keeps trying to call down your phone, talking about she wants to apologize. She should not have cheated in the first place. And that being three days before the wedding. It's despicable."she says rolling her eyes. I sit quietly eating my brownie as she ranted on.
"You should sue her for wasting all those good years of your life and money spent on the wedding. Ah! Better yet, ruin her entire career. Tell everyone how she is a two timing dog, that doesn't know to keep her legs closed.""I'm not going to do that Naomi." I finally say.
"I can't with you." I raise a brow to her.
"You're too nice."Am I?
"You know yourself Daniel. Do you know how much you were ready to give your life for her? The kind of love you gave her. I've never seen anything like it. You're what people call a green flag." I chuckle.
"What do you know about that?"
"I know you're not a red one." I stare at her.
"You would of done anything for her." I look down."Sometimes, the most heartbreaking moments can turn out to be our most greatest triumphs. Maybe this was necessary, because all the love that you have, all that you were getting ready to do and be for her, maybe she wasn't the one who deserves it."
"But-"
"If she really loved you,she would not of cheated on you three days before the wedding with that jealous love sick best friend, she keeps trying to say is just her friend/brother, whatever they called it." She tells me.
"Just as a man who really loves a woman would show up for her, is the same way a woman would." I stare at her."Now eat your brownies. Carson should be here soon." She says, turning and leaving.

"I really think this new contract will work out great." I shake his hand.
"I believe so too."
"At our next meeting in April, Valentina will be with us, so she can officially sign the documents marking the beginning of our partnership together for the project." I nod, leading him to the elevator.
"It's really sad what happened. Damien was a great business man." He sadly smiles.
"I honestly didn't expect him to go so soon." He states.
"You and I. How is she though? His family? Its been a little over a year now."
"They're all doing well. I promised him to look after them, so that's what I'm doing." I nod.
The elevator opens and he enters.
"Till next time." I nod, and it closes.——•——
