Word got out.

Or more like my mother made a statement and told people to stop spreading false narratives, when her son did nothing wrong.  That alone, now lead everyone to target Rebecca.

Rebecca Shepherd cheats on fiancé three days before the wedding an inside source gave word. What's your take on this one people?

I rest my phone down, passing my hand through my hair. No more social media. God, it's amazing how quickly people can change sides. I know some of them were just calling me a dog just the other day.

There was also a lot of support coming my way. Clients calling and wishing me well. Telling me not to worry about all that they gave and provided for the wedding.

Some people were still saying that I most likely was at fault, that I lead her too it. Others are asking what women really wanted. Saying that I gave her the world, and I loved her like she was my world, and she still cheated.

These are conversations Naomi has replayed to me.

And Rebecca...She keeps calling.

Tyler told me not to answer. Mom forbade me.
Dad was against it.Naomi threatened me.

They all wanted me to not let her in. Don't give her another chance Daniel, they said. She knows how to butter you up, Tyler said. She'll try to soften you up, mom said.

But she kept calling, and calling and calling.

I'm slowly reaching the stage of complete irritation.

Why should she be calling?

What could she possibly be calling about?

What could be so important?

My phone pings, and I look down seeing a message from her.

Don't.
Daniel.
Don't.

I scroll down, making sure not to go into it.
I know. I know. I shouldn't even look at it.

Daniel. Hi..I know I have no right texting you or talking to you, but I promise you it was a mistake. I never meant for it to happen...

Dammit. I don't want to open the message.
Heck...I did nothing wrong.

I tap on it, reading it over before continuing where I left off.

I just...please don't do this. Don't let us end like this. What about all the beautiful years we had together, to just let it go over one mis-" My phone lights up before I could even finish reading, and I stare at her contact.

Seems she was waiting.

I shouldn't answer. But I...

"Daniel? Oh my gosh. You answered." She begins to cry.
"Please don't end things. Please don't give up on us. It was a silly mistake and I-"

"Silly? You call sleeping with another man a silly mistake?!"

"It was an accident!" She exclaims.

"You accidentally had sex? You accidentally took off your clothes, and laid under him, or on top who knows!"

"Oh please Daniel! It was a mistake. I didn't mean to-"

"Three days before our wedding Rebecca. THREE DAYS!! I've done everything I could possibly think of to make you happy. Paid off your college tuition, bought your parents a house, got you your dream car, helped you start your modeling career. Love you almost more than I did myself. I did everything!!"

"I had cold feet and-" I stand up from my bed.

"SO YOU DECIDE TO CHEAT INSTEAD OF TALKING TO YOUR FIANCÉ! YOU CALL YOUR GUY BESTIE OVER TO OUR MARITAL HOME TO TALK AND ACCIDENTALLY HAD FREAKING SEX!!"

"I was second guessing as any bride does sometimes Daniel!! YOU CAN'T BE MAD AT ME FOR THAT! WE WERE TALKING AND I FELT SO OVERWHELMED AND HE WAS THERE-" I laugh humorously at her excuse.

"I loved you."

🎶Darling I would catch a grenade for ya'🎶

"I was prepared to take care of you."

🎶Put my hand on a blade for ya'🎶

"To always be there for you. To protect you, to stand with you."

🎶I'll jump in front of a train for ya. You know I'll do anything for ya'🎶

"I was ready...to love and to cherish, only you."

"Those were to be my vows, since you wanted to keep the traditional way but make it more modern. But I wasn't worth it was I? I wasn't worth waiting three more days? I wasn't worth you being faithful?" I could hear her cries on the other end of the phone.
"You had second thoughts and called Richard because you wanted to hear what he thought. You wanted to make sure you weren't doing the wrong thing. You had to make sure that you were marrying the right person, that you weren't about to do something you would regret. And maybe I was to damn blind to see that you guys had always loved each other, but dammit still."

"D-Daniel."

"Don't try to force something you know you truly don't want Rebecca. And you know what hurts.. I still love you."

"I still care for you. I want to hate you. God knows I do. I want to make you feel every pain you made me feel. I want to be so angry with you. I want t-o..." my voice breaks, and I cover my face with my hand, beginning to cry.

🎶I was going through all this pain. Take a bullet straight through my brain.🎶

"I can't." I heartbrokenly mutter.
"There's no future for us anymore." I say hanging up.

🎶Yes I would die, for you baby. But you won't do the same.🎶
