Tsireya held her mothers hand, as she huffed and groaned in pain. She was scared for her mother, but ultimately knew she was a strong warrior- and was not phased by a birth, she had two other children. She was delivering the baby, Tonowari beside her comforting her and telling her how excited he was, kissing her hand as it clenched tight. The midwives pulled it out gently and immediately rubbed it hard with a cloth to stimulate its nerves. She smiled at her child being held up and reached out her arms to grab her. "She's beautiful" Tonowari said with tears in his eyes. Aonung stood outside pacing back and forth, only when he heard the cries of a small newborn did he rush inside. He headed straight for his mum, hugging her daughter and mate. He smiled at the small little baby she held, she was so sweet looking. She was his new sister. The baby girl cried and fussed in Ronal's arms. He smiled at his new sister.

"Are you sure you don't want to be with your family?" Neteyam said to Aonung as they collected tree bark to dry. It was only just the early morning the little girl had been born "i'm sure there is stuff to do to help, i mean, i can't handle the work by myself" Aonung stopped collecting off the tree and chuckled "no, they much prefer me out of the way actually, my mum is strong she doesn't need me to wander around- she's got enough people filling that role" it went silent, as they worked.

Aonung's mind was somewhere else, now that he knew his mum was okay- and that he had her blessing he was planning all this time how to ask Neteyam to be his, the proper way, to mate before eywa in their sacred site. He had purposefully distanced himself from touching neteyam sexually. Much to Neteyam's protest. He wanted it to be special, he didn't want to take advantage of Neteyam's unconditional love anymore. He knew the boy cherished him, and he knew he could convince him. The only thing left was the planning, how to ask. He didn't know how he would react, everytime he tried to imagine his face when he asked, his mind imagined him happy; but he wasn't this naive. It would be hard for both of them and it would be selfish for him to think of a happy ending. He wanted a happy ending so bad, he wanted Neteyam- not anyone else. It would take a massive amount of love and trust for this to work, from the people, and of course both families and each other first and foremost.

Neteyam broke the silence to say "congratulations, im very excited to meet her soon at the ceremony" he smiled "thanks blue boy" he stopped and turned to Neteyam, dropping his carving knife. "I love my family, and I love my people. I also love you" He said, causing Neteyam to blush, Aonung kissed his lips softly and slowly. Neteyam went to deepen the kiss, throwing his arms around Aonung's neck. They thought that they couldn't help but want the other. Suddenly the bushes behind them rustled, and they heard footsteps running away. Neteyam pulled away sharply, startled.
He looked to Aonung hoping he imagined it, and regretting that they hadn't been more careful. Aonung didn't seem phased, as he saw who it was, looking into the bushes. Neteyam's eyes filled with worry Aonung went to comfort him "it doesn't matter, not anymore" Aonung went to grab his arms and to ask him but Neteyam scrunched up his face "it does matter Aonung! We are not a mated pair" Just then he touched his shoulder, now was the time to ask. He worked up the courage, extremely nervous as he had dreamed of this day. Never thinking it would actually come. "I'm going for a walk" Neteyam said, breaking the silence, with a blank expression. Trying to hide his real emotions was hard, especially when Aonung had just inadvertently told him that it was over between them. 'It doesn't matter anymore' in his mind that could only mean one thing, that he was moving on and it was over.

He walked to their spot, underneath the tree where they first kissed. It had been so long ago now, time passed way too quickly for his liking. Feeling the moss where he sat, the tree trunk he was up against and the flowers that lit up the night. His heart broke because just like that it was over. He felt immense sadness crush over him. Then the tears came, that happened a lot lately. He whipped them away but then new ones would come, his face becoming hot and puffy. So he let it come, the tears. He cried and cried, because he felt so helpless and small like he couldn't ever take charge of his life or get what he wanted.
