Liar (Loid Forger x Reader)

Y/N'S POV

Alex, Eren, Loid, Anya, and I sat outside in the backyard making s'mores. I couldn't help but think about my conversation with Eren earlier.

Eren grabs the horse by its reins, helping it walk as Anya sat on its back.

"You're very lucky to live with the person you love.." Eren says out of nowhere.

Blushing, I face him. "Wh-What?"

He chuckles. "I'm not going to ask how you two got together because I know that's personal, but I admire you guys. Whoever confessed your love for the other first is very brave."

I couldn't help but think about earlier today how I tried to tell him how I felt.

"Love is a very beautiful thing. I feel like it's sort of a privilege. That just depends on a person if they're ready to take a leap and see if they get to experience such a thing or not."

My eyes widen at his statement.

"Have you taken that leap yet?" I ask.

He chuckles weakly. "I'm too much of a coward to take that risk." He faces me and smiles. "But I just remind myself who it is I'm in love with and it gives me a little bit of courage to take that leap.. For her.."

Without knowing it, Eren's words began to take a toll on me.

He was right, love is a beautiful thing.. I should shoot my shot with Loid.. If only he knew how much love I have to offer him..

Of course he will never know if I never say anything.

Looking up from the fire, I see Loid helping Anya with her marshmallow.

My face began to feel warm and I knew it wasn't because of the fire in front of me. Loid looks up and we make eye contact.

I felt butterflies in my stomach as he smiles softly at me.

"Look papa a shooting star!" Anya smiles.

We all look up and see the shooting star fly across the sky.

"I'm gonna make a wish!" Anya smiles.

"Whatever you wish for, I hope it comes true." Loid smiles.

I glance at Alex to see her closing her eyes, most likely making a wish too.

"We should probably go. The ride back is pretty far." Loid smiles.

"Aww do we have to papa?" Anya whines.

"Why don't you guys stay the night? I have plenty of room." Alex offers.

"We can't do that to you." I smile.

She stands up and removes her hat. "Please I insist. Take it as my way of saying thank you, for letting me stay at your place.."

"Please mommy!" Anya begs.

"I'm alright with that, but it's up to your dad.."

Loid smiles. "It couldn't hurt right?"

Alex clasps her hands together. "Yay!"

Just then Anya yawns.

"Anya, let's go. I'll tuck you into bed." Alex smiles carrying her. "Feel free to stay out here as long as you want." She smiles as she walks inside with Eren.

Once they enter the house, I nervously look up at Loid, who's looking at the starry night.

"What's on your mind?" He asks without even glancing at me.
