LOID'S POV

Laying in bed I couldn't help but feel my face warm upon yesterday's turn of events.

I kissed Y/N..!

What the heck is going on?! I've been on countless missions, but never have I let my guard down this much!

Come on Twilight, snap out of it! Seriously, I've never been this sloppy as a spy! Sighing I place a hand on my face. I'm grateful Handler gave me the day off, so that I can rest from this stressful mission, but I feel bad for the others. Unlike me, they were already over at headquarters still trying to figure out what Desmond is plotting.

Taking a deep breath, I try and gain the courage to get out of bed. At some point I'm going to have to face Y/N...

Sitting up, I put my slippers on and hesitantly walked towards my bedroom door.

Reaching for the doorknob, I notice my heart beating faster and my hand shaking as I reach for the doorknob.

'What on earth is going on with me? A-Am I that scared to face Y/N..?' I think to myself. Placing my hands in my head I take a deep breath. I have to keep it together!

Taking a shaky breath, I swallow the lump in my throat and somehow manage to open the door.

With each step, my heart pounded even louder as I neared the kitchen.

To my surprise however, no one was home. Stepping inside of the kitchen, I see a note on the counter.

I had an opening shift at work today, Anya's at school. Breakfast is in the microwave! I'll be back around five o'clock! Take it easy on your day off, you work so hard!

Y/N.

Smiling softly at the note, I open the microwave, "Looks like I'll be picking Anya up from school and it seems I'll have time to think about what I'll be telling Y/N..." I couldn't help but blush.

Y/N'S POV

Restocking some cupcakes, I couldn't help but think about how Loid and I kissed.

So many things were on my mind..

Is this a sign that he may actually return my feelings? Did he just kiss me without even realizing what he was doing? Was he really that sleep deprived.

"Y/N?"

Turning around, I face Sasha who's eating a cookie.

"What's wrong?" She asks.

"Don't say it's nothing, because you've been quiet all day.." Lucy adds on.

My eyes widen. Have I seriously been thinking about it this long...?

"Well..." Gulping, I desperately try to come up with a lie. "I just wanted to do something special for Loid. He works so hard and I've notice work has been really heavy for him lately.."

Eating another cookie, Sasha hums. "Maybe you can take him out for dinner, just the two of you!"

Lucy nods. "That's a great idea. You could just leave Anya with Alex."

"Oh how is she by the way!?" Sasha cries. "Are her and Eren finally a thing?"

"If I'm being quite honest, I haven't talked to her at all lately. She's no longer staying with us, but work has been rather heavy on her too. I can't really say if her and Eren are a thing or not since I haven't seen her.."

Just then, a few customers came in. Lucy and Sasha immediately attended them. As they took care of the customers, I couldn't help but wonder is life as a doctor so busy to the point that you don't even get a day off..?
