{No one's Pov}
"Avengers, meeting. Now!" Steve called out when the alert popped up on his phone.
Natasha was first to meet Steve in the corridor on the way to the meeting room. "You know we all get the alert, right?"
Steve shrugged, "I like to announce it."
"You're such an old man." Natasha laughed as she split from the man, running ahead.
Soon enough everyone had arrived in one of the many meeting rooms in the compound. Of course Tony Stark arrives late, 'fashionably' late in Stark's words.
Fury handed the group an info folder before a woman entered, standing at the front. She wore a dark maroon shirt with black trousers and a matching belt and finished the look with black combat boots. (Picture at the top ^)
All eyes laid on her, well most eyes.
"Well, who are you?" Tony smirked and the woman only rolled her eyes.
"Uninterest." The woman stated not even looking at Stark. The women in the room laughed as Tony fell quiet.
"If you turn your attention to the folders I have handed out." Fury spoke bluntly as everyone now opened the folders.
"Ember?" Steve looked over at the woman, who nodded. "No last name?"
Ember shook her head. "That's information you don't need to know. Just call me Ember."
"Powers," Wanda started, "pyrokinesis? What is that exactly?"
Ember smirked. "The ability to manipulate the element of fire."
"Another witch, great." Tony scoffed and both Wanda and Ember snapped their heads towards him.
"You got a problem Stark?" Wanda was quick to speak, before Ember cut in.
"I have a gift. I'm not a witch. Tread carefully Stark, I could burn everything you hold dear to you in the matter of seconds."
Tony smiled. "I'm glad you mentioned that. Quick question, could you light a cigarette with your finger?"
Ember smiled as her index finger lit and the group all leaned in to see the flame properly. "You don't play with fire."
"Unless you're willing to get burnt." Natasha smirked as she finally looked at Ember.
Everyone fell silent as they all looked between the pair. Nat held her smirk and Ember only stood with a blank facial expression. Even Fury was waiting for the next ball to drop.
Ember finally smirked back. "Exactly."
It was silent for a moment again before Fury spoke. "Are we done with introductions?"
Ember nodded before now taking a seat next to Wanda. The meeting dragged on about more recent information that Fury thought was useful to the time. Of course half of them didn't pay attention, mostly studying Ember or her file. Tony had already started thinking of possible suit designs that would, of course, be fireproof. If that was even possible.
The meeting was over and everyone started to rush out. Ember heard most of them wanting to head to the kitchen or lunch.
Ember wanted to stay behind, wanting to talk to Fury but the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist had other plans for the newbie.
Tony took the girl by the arm. "Thank god that meeting is over, am I right."
"It wouldn't be so boring if you actually cared about things." Ember huffed as she removed her arm from Tony's grip.
Tony held his hands up in surrender. "Chill girl." Ember raised a brow at Tony's statements and he sighed. "Wrong choice of words, my apologies."
"Wow the billionaire apologised." Ember rolled her eyes as she continued to walk, following the sound of commotion to the kitchen.
"I'm a gentleman." The man laughed as he continued to walk with the woman. "How about you have lunch with the group then someone can show you to your room?"
Ember looked at the man, "You don't eat with them?"
"Occasionally," Tony shrugged before continuing. "Nat would probably be the best one to have as a guide, your room is closest to hers."
Ember nodded, "Good to know."
"She is also the one who won't chat your ear off. Ever want that, Pete is your guy." Tony states again.
Ember thanked the man before she joined the rest of the group in the kitchen, some looked to be fighting over what to eat whilst others seemed to start making their own separate meals. Ember didn't care about the lunch drama as she stood in a corner, observing everything was good enough for her.
Her attention was dragged away from the group when someone came to stand with her.
"Finding it fun to watch?" Natasha sighed as she turned to place something on the counter.
Ember realised it was a bottle of wine, "Day drinker?"
"It's five o'clock somewhere, right?" Nat rolled her eyes.
Ember laughed lightly, "I guess you could say that."
Natasha nodded as she turned with her first glass in her hand. "You'll understand why I drink soon enough when you meet the team properly."
Nat now took a sip of her drink before she was called over by Clint who tried to get her involved with the debate. "Nat, we need your opinion!"
Nat sighed, "They won't be finished by dinner time, I swear." The ginger woman whispered before placing her glass down and walking over to defuse the situation.
Ember now stood alone as she watched how the woman defused the situation. She could tell Nat had dealt with this more than once. Once again Ember's attention was pulled away from the live entertainment. This time it was Wanda.
"I think it's best to get food later when they're done." Wanda smiled, "Do you know where your room is?"
"I was told to ask Natasha." Ember smiled and paused, looking back at the ginger, "But she seems a bit preoccupied."
Wanda nods, "She's normally dragged into those."
"I can see why." Ember laughed as she realised it had started to calm down.
"Here, I'll take you to your room." Wanda reached for the woman's hand before dragging her out and away from the kitchen.
