{No one's Pov}

Nat made sure that Ember went straight to their room to rest. Normally she would have given up by now. Letting the others do whatever they wanted but something in her told her to stay.

"Natasha," Ember sighed, breaking the silence about half way there, "I'm completely fine."

"You were dehydrated and what I read from your file, that's not good." Natasha finally looked into the other woman's eyes.

Ember's words were caught in her throat for a moment. "You actually read through all of it?" Was the only thing she managed to say.

Natasha nodded. "I pay way more attention to things than the rest of the team."

"Couldn't tell." Ember joked lightly as they reached her room.

Natasha opened the door, holding it for the other behind her. "Rest up. I'll go grab another bottle of water."

"Really, I'm fine now." Ember smiled but the ginger still didn't believe it.

"Rest." Nat spoke more firmly before Ember sat on her bed.

Natasha returned with more than just a bottle of water, she had brought a few snacks and drinks, dumping them on Ember's bed.

"What's all this?" Ember questioned as Natasha sat next to the woman.

Nat grabbed the remote for the tv. "You'll need company."

"I didn't think you were the company type of person." Ember shrugs as Natasha finally picks a show to watch, Ember digging into the snacks.

Natasha took some of the crisps Ember had in her hand. "Everyone needs company." The ginger shrugged. "I just choose mine carefully."

Ember nodded, "Am I now trusted?"

Natasha looked at the brunette, with a small smile. "I'm still deciding."

"I'll make my way through, I know it." Ember laughed lightly as she turned to her tv.

Nat smirked, "You're overly confident."

"Trust me, the file didn't tell you everything about me." Ember says, still staring at the screen. "I'm full of surprises."

Nat laughed, "I'm sure you are, Phoenix."

Both women fall silent as they watch their show.

Another episode of the show ended, both women knew that Ember was okay now. But, somehow, after only a week and barely talking, they felt comfortable with each other.

Natasha looked to the other woman, who was obviously invested into the show. "Tell me something that wouldn't be in your file."

Ember looked at the ginger after the silence was broken, slightly surprised by the sudden sound of her voice. "Like what?"

"Anything." Nat shrugged, just wanting to know more about the other.

Ember looked to the side, clearly thinking. "As long as you tell me something in return."

Natasha nodded, "Only seems fair."

"Okay..." Ember paused, "I don't like my powers, I would give anything to be normal."

Natasha nodded, "That's common sometimes, I understand that." Ember smiled, it was clear to Nat she was waiting for the widow to reply with her small fact. "I have a sister."

"Oh, interesting, where are they?" Ember perked up, she couldn't really imagine someone else like Natasha.

Nat shook their head, "I have no idea." The woman paused. "Tell me more about not wanting these powers, Aguya."

"Aguya?" Ember was quick to question after picking up on the name.

Natasha nodded. "It's russian, it means mistress of fire."

Ember smiled with a small laugh, "Well that's new." Ember shook her head, going back to the previous question as she continued, now looking away for the other woman and it was clear her mood had dropped. "I umm... let's just say, my brother and his jerk friends messed with me a little too much."

Although Ember had just called them jerks, Nat could tell she missed her brother, "I'm so sorry."

"I didn't know how to control my powers." Ember sighed, still not looking at Nat. "I combusted, I guess."

Nat kept hold of the woman's hand. She wanted to pull her in for a hug, even though Natasha wasn't a hugger. It felt strange to the spy to care so quickly. She also didn't want to risk hugging the brunette, not knowing if she was that comfortable with Nat yet.

Ember wiped away the few tears that had fallen. "I guess we both have family we miss, huh?"

Natasha smiled softly, "Yours is completely different."

The room felt silent again. This time, it was awkward. Natasha didn't know how to comfort the brunette about her brother and she didn't know if she should continue about her sister.

Ember felt the same awkwardness that she was sure Natasha was feeling. She didn't mean to bring the mood down, but she knew someone had to know. She needed to know there was someone she could go to who knew about it. Even if that's a lonely spy who doesn't trust easily.

"Hey," Nat grabbed the woman's hand, catching her attention. "I'm not the only one you can talk to. Wanda lost her brother too."

Ember only smiled as she whispered a response, "Thanks for listening anyways."

"Hey, us girls gotta stick together right?" Natasha laughed lightly as she nudged Ember.

"Hey are you guys joining..." Clint walked right in. "Oh wow, Natasha, I didn't know you could smile let alone laugh."

Nat threw one of Ember's cushions in Clint's face, hitting him perfectly. "What do you want?"

"Well I was going to ask you to join game night but it looks like you two are alright on your own." Clint shrugs, throwing the cushion back, only to miss Natasha and hit Ember.

"Oh, arrow boy, you're in trouble," Natasha laughed again as Ember stared at the man, getting up slowly.

Clint ran for the hills as Ember turned to Nat, "You don't mind me turning your best friend into a crisp?"

"Do your worst, as long as you don't kill him." Nat shrugged before Ember dashed down the halls.

Nat laughed as she heard her friend's girly scream, clearly Ember had caught up. Nat, at her own speed, walked out of Ember's room, following the sounds of her friend practically begging for Ember to spare him.

Natasha again laughed to herself as Clint stood one side of a table and Ember the other.
