Chapter 6

After a few beers and a few slices of pizza, the two had completely forgotten about their little spat merely an hour ago. Andy threw a piece of crust into the nearly empty pizza box, not bothering with finishing her bite, manners were out the window. “So really...” Andy attempted to talk between bites of pizza rolling around in her mouth. “What’s your issue with Lily?” Andy managed to spit out the rest of her question without spitting out any of the pizza. Blair glanced at Andy sideways, taking a swig of her beer before shrugging and answered. “Nothing, I suppose. We just don’t know who she is and frankly I didn’t think she was your type.” Because Andy had been drinking it was taking her longer than normal to actually finish chewing the bite of pizza she had in her mouth, but she managed to swallow before talking again.

“And what makes you the expert on who’s my type? Eh?” Andy inquired, finishing off the rest of her third beer, before standing up to go into the kitchen to grab another. “Oh well excuse me, I just thought you liked normal girls, but hey, if you want to go out with another crazy then be my guest.” Blair stated matter-of-factly. “Ha ha ha, you’re so funny.” Andy rolled her eyes, turning to open the fridge to pull out another beer.

There was a knock at the door. Andy twisted off the cap to her beer and tossed it onto the kitchen counter. Rounding the corner to the front door, she arched her eyebrow, taking a swig of her beer, unlocked and opened the door. There was no one there. “Well that’s weird...” Andy muttered looking either way down the hall to find it bare. She then looked down to see something rather familiar. Inches in front of the doorway was her laptop, sitting on the ground, possibly even cleaner than she had remembered. Andy bent down and picked it up, hesitant, she scanned the hallway again to see if she could see anyone, before bringing it back inside and placing it on the counter.

“Who was that?” Blair inquired, standing up to join Andy in the kitchen. “It was my laptop...” Andy stated, staring at the black HP laptop that had just been returned to her possession, and drinking more of her beer to try and cope with what had just transpired. Blair gave Andy a confused look. “What do you mean your laptop? Laptops can’t knock.” Blair stated taking Andy’s comment rather literally. Blair looked from Andy to her laptop and back to Andy, who continued to sip on her beer and stare at the it as if it was a safe and she was the safe cracker. “Earth to Andy.” Blair sang in Andy’s ear move her hand up and down in front of Andy, trying to break her trance. “I just don’t get it...” Andy whispered, her gaze remained fixed on the laptop. “What don’t you get?” Blair asked, still confused why Andy was acting this way. “Hello?!” She exclaimed, getting tired of Andy not giving her any answer.

Andy shook off her gaze and turned to Blair, a puzzled look still remained on her face. “That’s my laptop.” Blair threw her hands up in frustration. “I believe we have already established that, now what about it?” Blair now stood in front of Andy with her arms crossed, shifting her weight from one side to the other and tapped her foot. “My laptop was stolen from my bag a few days ago when I went to my parents’ house for dinner, and now it’s back...” Andy trailed off to look back down at the laptop. Blair’s body language changed from frustration to curiosity, as she now stared at the laptop. “That’s not creepy at all...” Blair whispered sarcastically with a small chuckle.

Andy gave Blair a sideways glance and shook her head. They both stood staring at the laptop in silence for a few minutes before Andy piped up. “Should I open it?” She turned to Blair, putting her hand to her chin. Blair shrugged. “I mean you could but...” She paused and then whispered. “What if it’s booby trapped?” She stated, looking around rather seriously. Andy scoffed. “Really? Booby trapped? Why in the hell would they booby trap my laptop?” Blair shrugged. “I don’t know. I’m just sayin’ it could be booby trapped. You’re the one who asked me, m’kay?” Blair threw up her hands and walked over to grab another beer. “You’re killing my buzz Andrea.” Blair giggled. Andy cringed at the sound of her full name. “I hate you.” Andy said simply, scowling at her friend. “You love me.” Blair replied with a cheesy smile, heading back into the living room to lay on the couch.
