Chapter Three
I stared at him. The whole time.
I was just suddenly noticing how hot he was. I couldn't stop thinking about it. AND HE'S MY BROTHER!!! I gagged to myself at being so stupid. He looked up at me and smiled. "What?" I whispered, not trusting myself to speak. We were sitting in his 'house' (which was really a freaking enormous mansion with fifty million thousand square acres of land,) eating some sort of chicken that really tasted like summer and nature, and amazingness.
"You're cute, you know that?" He said. And I gaped at him. Did he just call me cute? He suddenly smiled and leaned across the table. At first I thought he was going to kiss me, but as I was pulling back by the inch, he wiped food off of my chin. I tried to ignore the jolt sent through my body at his touch. What the hell was wrong with me?
He sat back in his chair, his food done. He seemed a lot happier since the couple hours ago in the lobby. He smiled at me and I let out a small grin. I was still trying to breathe. Suddenly his phone rang and I thanked God for the interruption. He stopped looking at me and pulled his phone from his pocket as I finished my food. I took the plates into the kitchen, having to walk a mile before reaching it. I placed my hands on the counter and took deep breaths. He was suddenly behind me, reaching into the cabinet above my head. He was still talking on the phone and I knew I could drown in his deep, smooth voice. He pulled out a notebook and answered the questions on the other line, all the while ignoring me. I was freaking hyperventilating. I let out a long breath when he walked into the living room. He came back into the kitchen a minute later. He was off of the phone and he took off his suit jacket as he climbed onto the counter and sat there.
"Wanna go to a party?" He asked as he ate a grape from the bowl beside him.
It felt just like old times, when he was invited to every single party at our school. He would always take me, not caring if I was invited or not. I mostly wasn't. I looked over at him and shrugged. "Sure." I sighed when he smiled.
"Great."

My brother being rich had its benefits. He looked through all of my clothes and dismissed them as too ugly, so he took me to a store on the way. It was Aerocrombie and Fitch. I knew I couldn't afford these clothes back at home, but Nick and his car driver were throwing clothes at me left and right. I was arm stocked when he pushed me into the dressing room. Following right behind. Growing up with him, I always saw him in boxers and naked, but it felt different with him now. He ordered me to strip, and I rolled my eyes before doing so. I was in my Wonder Woman boxers and he smiled then shook his head as he handed me an outfit.
We did that until I had four outfits picked out, and two pairs of shoes.
We started to drive to the party after an hour of us arguing over which one I wanted to wear. I ended up with one, and that was that.
Nick, on the other hand was the definition of God in his assemble. He wore a pair of sorta faded blue jeans a navy blue loose fitting tank top, and a leather jacket over that, and black male combat boots. It wasn't much, but boy... I was going insane. Completely bonkers. I wore a navy blue flannel type shirt with the sleeves shoved up past my elbows, a loose navy blue shirt tucked into black jeans, and a pair of white chucks. I shook my hair out and looked over at Nick again. He was looking out of the window, his face shining by the slowly setting sun. He had a light smile on his face, and I wondered what he was thinking.
"Hey bro, watcha thinking about so hard?" I said as I threw my feet onto his lap and rested my head on my forearms. He shoved my feet away which made me shoot up and we started wrestling. He had me pinned, but last second, I flipped him over and we started rolling all over the seats and the floor, laughing and shouting threats at each other. Just like old times. I smiled as he had me pinned again. He was sitting on my chest, threatening to kill me if I didn't say uncle. He looked down, caught my smile, and smiled back. It was just like old times. When he was distracted, I pushed him into the back seat, and just as I was getting ready to pin him, the car came to a screeching halt, throwing my body into his. His arm wrapped around my back protectively, just like he always used to do when someone tried to fight me, or I almost fell, or something like that. His piercing brown eyes met mine and I didn't miss the sudden gleam there. His other arm was clenching the seat beside him, as if trying to steady himself, from what, I had no idea.
"Are you okay?" His driver yelled suddenly. I jerked away, causing me to fall on my butt. I looked upside down and saw the driver peering at us through the slide.
"Yeah, totally." I said stupidly, trying to get the feel of Nick's hands off of my body. He scarred me with his stupid touch. I sighed and looked at him from across the car. We were in one of those big fancy limos, and the back was enormous. His hair was over his eyes, and the look he was giving me could kill.
He was looking at me like a piece of meat.
I blinked then suddenly we stopped again. The driver appeared beside the car in a second and opened the door, causing a mixture of loud music and whoops of excitement to fill out through the thick space separating us. Nick climbed out and gestured for me to come on, that look gone, replaced by my brother. Who was happy and go lucky. I looked down at the ground to hide my smile as his eyes met mine.
We were at a big house, one like his, and it was over flowing with partying people. There was a guy passed out on the front lawn, his face covered with sharpie, and his pants pulled down to reveal a full moon. I laughed at that and Nick turned to look at me. He laughed too. His laugh was perfect. The right amount of deep, and the right amount of lightness. His eyes crinkled at the corners and they lit up like fireworks. He pulled me into the house, both of us still laughing. The house was jammed packed and we had to walk through side ways to get to the living room where the real party was. Strobe lights were flashing everywhere, the music was cranked up and the only thing I could hear was my heartbeat in my throat due to the touch from Nick. He pulled me to the DJ table at the front. He said something to him, got a nod in return, then pulled me to the drinks table. He grabbed me a cup and filled it up with something I couldn't make out, I was too distracted my his body being so close to mine. He looked over and handed me the drink.
"Go find you a chick!" He yelled over the music, gesturing to the dance floor.
I looked around, saw a pretty blonde, and a pretty brunette, but I was only noticing one brunette and that was the one who was sipping Jack beside me.
I looked over at him. "Who said I didn't want to hang out with you!" I yelled.
He smiled then pulled me to the dance floor, downing his drink, and taking mine after I did the same. Suddenly my favorite song in the entire world came on.
Centuries by Fall Out Boy.
I immediately started dancing to the piano's beat. I was already feeling the Jack, and I hadn't even noticed that Nick was dancing like an idiot, too.
"SOME LEGENDS ARE TOLD!" I started screaming the song and Nick kept grinning like a fool. Soon we had more and more cups in our hands, and soon we were drunker than drunk. A slow song came on, and I started to walk off of the dance floor when Nick grabbed my hand. He pulled me into his hard broad chest. I looked up at him, and my drunkness went out the window. I was wide awake now buddy.
"You know, Kace Kace." He started to say as he ran his finger over my jaw. I tried not shiver, but it happened anyway, and he smiled at that. "I reaaaaaaaaaally want to just kisssss you.." He slurred.
I pulled his whole body weight against me as I shoved past the drunk couples making out. He started slurring things about making love to someone and I rolled my eyes. He was drunk. Way too drunk.
Thankfully the limo was already out there, waiting. The driver opened the door for me and smiled. I just shoved Nick into the back by his ass. He giggled then fell onto the floor. He started rolling around as I climbed in. "Come on Kace Kace, come roll with me!" He exclaimed. I rolled my eyes, but started rolling with him anyway. He smiled and suddenly rolled on top of me. I grunted when his body weight rested there.
"Come on Nick." I said under my breath as I pushed him off, but his arms locked around me, causing me to go with him, making me land on top of him. I sighed but laid there anyway as he fell asleep. Soon his warm breath fanning across my temple and slowly rising and falling chest had me dozing off. I fell asleep in his arms, the feeling of home strong.
