"What on earth?" Belle said in shock. "What are you doing in my hotel room?" She asked throwing her clutch bag on the nearby chair. "Your hotel room?" Johnny said stood in front of the balcony doors in an extremely well tailored suit. "Umm yeah seeing as I have the key and all my stuff is in here, I'd say it's mine." Annabelle said. "I had no idea." Johnny said politely and made for the door. "So you're just gonna leave?" Annabelle said confused. "You break into my hotel room for no other reason than to just leave when I arrive?" Her patience were wearing thin after her ruined evening. "I didn't break in... clearly there's been some misunderstanding. Fucking hotels." Johnny said heading to the door and attempting to open it. It was jammed shut. He yanked on the door handle a good few times before pulling back. "It's stuck?" He looked at Belle who's eyes widened. "Hotel doors don't just get stuck?" She said as Johnny started banging on the door. "Help!! Sean!! Travis!!! Nathan!!!" He called out loudly. Belle walked to the room phone and lifted the receiver. "That's strange." "What is?" Johnny asked. "No dialling tone." She slammed the phone back down as Johnny resumed calling out for his employees. Finally they heard Sean's voice. "Yes sir..." "Sean!! What the hell is going on???" "Umm no idea what you mean sir?" "You fucking well do Betts... what is this? Some sort of joke?" He heard Annabelle scoff behind him. "No sir. We are under strict instructions. The door is to remain locked until the morning." "WHAT?" Both Belle and Johnny exclaimed. "If there is any issue.. take it up with Miss G. It was her idea." Sean's voice could be heard fading. "Miss G?" Annabelle asked out loud. "Woah wait as in Gina?" She asked Johnny who slowly turned from the door. "I don't get it..." he said quietly before trying the door once more. He rushed to the balcony doors and opened them, he sighed in relief as they swung open. He wandered out and Belle followed. They looked over the edge of the balcony before seeing a huge drop to the sidewalk. Annabelle's eyes widened as Johnny sized up the drop. Was being in her company really that bad?
After lighting a cigarette he turned to look at the woman who was stood in the doorway of the balcony. He made to move into the room and she immediately moved out his way against the wall and remained silent. It was only then he stopped to look at her. She took his breath, she was always beautiful to him but tonight she looked exceptionally wonderful in a beautiful dress and he fought to tell her.
After the pair had finally relented and accepted that for some reason they were locked in a hotel suite. Johnny sat down on the couch. "So, what are you doing here?" He asked. "It's my.." "I know it's your suite, I meant here here. In LA." "Oh umm," Annabelle felt embarrassed. "It's the trip I booked to come and see you." She said avoiding eye contact at all costs. "Oh.. and you still came?" He said taking a long drag of his cigarette. "I don't think you're meant to.." "I'll pay whatever fine they charge you with don't worry.. and you didn't answer my question." She finally turned to face him. "Well I umm had work to do so yes I still came." He nodded silently. "And what are you doing?" She asked. "I live here?" He said confused. "No I meant what were you meant to be doing tonight?" "Oh umm a Dior dinner apparently... you?" "Meeting somebody that I'm meant to impress and charm with my English wit." She said rolling her eyes. "Sorry to disappoint." Johnny said sarcastically. "You're not a disappointment... I mean, what I mean is, I'm sure it would have been an awful dinner." He looked at her and smiled before she returned the friendly gesture.
"I feel bad.. if you were expecting dinner and you've ended up stuck here. Can I order you something?" She asked sweetly playing with her hands. "The phone's cut off isn't it?" Johnny asked bluntly. "Oh shit.. yeah.. umm" she began to look around the room before seeing a note on the table. She stood and walked over to it picking it up. It simply said essentials in the fridge, so she made her way over to the mini bar area and saw a small basket of breads, crackers and a bottle of French red, before opening the mini bar and seeing a bottle of champagne, various cheeses and truffle chocolates. She riffled through them and noticed they were all French. "I see what's happening here.." she said under her breath. "I can make you a sandwich?" She said standing up straight and looking over at him. "You don't need to do that, thanks though." He said with a smile before Belle made her way back to the couch.
"So, how's life?" Johnny asked rolling another cigarette. "Pfft.." Belle scoffed before noticing Johnny staring. "Your relationship going well?" He asked coldly. "There isn't a relationship." Belle said quietly. "But you got back with him?" Johnny asked almost sternly. "Not really.." she stuttered on her words before she braced herself and said "He's still married." He nodded slowly before looking at her. "I'm sorry." "Are you Johnny?" She snapped her head looking at him. "Yes. I know you're a romantic and wanted a fairytale." "Don't know about romantic. More like a fool. An idiot, stupid to think fairytales exist?" She said looking up at the ceiling. She would hunt Gina down and curse her when she eventually got out of this damn suite she thought. "You're not a fool. Happy endings do exist, they are just few and far between." Johnny said quietly. "Well I'm yet to find one.." Belle said before shuffling on the spot and pulling the hem of her dress down awkwardly.
"I want to apologise..." Johnny said a while later breaking the long silence. It had since got dark, and he was stood staring out the open balcony doors at the skyline. "For what?" Belle asked, her eyebrows furrowed. "For the way I spoke to you on the phone after fashion week. I do know you well enough to know you would never have used Lily-Rose. I can't imagine it was an easy situation to navigate." Belle smiled sweetly, biting her lip before nodding. "Thank you. I hoped you knew that deep down. I'm sorry that I didn't contact you immediately to let you know what was going on." "Hey, I had just screamed at you down the phone. I was probably the last person you wanted to speak with." Annabelle smiled sweetly before Johnny rejoined her on the couch.
Finally, Johnny wandered over to the mini bar. "Seems a waste to not sample this." He pulled the bottle of red from the basket and grabbed the bottle opener. He made the action look incredibly sauve. He had ditched his suit jacket and had rolled the sleeves of his white shirt up and looked very dapper. "I guess so." Belle said kicking off her heels and standing from the couch. He handed her a glass and their fingers touched. A spark jolting through them both. It stilled them, before Johnny took his glass to his lips and Belle matched his actions.
