17. Jean Kirstein x Reader

●Need some Help?●

The streets of Trost were bustling with vendors calling out their goods, children laughing and playing, and the distant sounds of horses' hooves clattering on the cobblestone roads. It was a rare moment of peace within the walls, and everyone was taking full advantage of it.

Amidst the crowd, Jean Kirschtein tried to balance a tray filled with fresh pastries he'd just purchased from a nearby bakery. He wasn't exactly known for his grace, and the last thing he wanted was to drop them before he reached his destination.

Suddenly, a familiar voice called out, "Need some help there, Jean?"

Looking up, he met your eyes, which sparkled with amusement. "Just enjoying the view," he replied with a smirk.

You laughed, taking half of the pastries from his tray to lighten his load. "Where are you off to in such a hurry with these?"

"I wanted to surprise you," Jean admitted sheepishly. "Figured we could have a nice picnic in the park. Just... didn't think the carrying part through."

You chuckled, leaning in to peck his cheek. "It's the thought that counts. And it's a wonderful thought."

The two of you made your way to a quiet spot under a large tree, spreading out a blanket and laying out the pastries. Jean watched as you took a bite, your face lighting up in delight.

"These are really good!" you exclaimed.

Jean grinned, a hint of pride in his eyes. "Only the best for you."

As the hours passed, you both lay on the blanket, looking up at the clear blue sky and making shapes out of the clouds. Jean's fingers found yours, intertwining them gently.

"I'm glad we got to spend this day together," he murmured, turning to face you.

You nodded, a contented smile on your face. "Me too, Jean. Moments like these make everything worth it."

And as the sun began to set, casting a golden hue over the town, the two of you remained wrapped up in each other's company, cherishing the simple joys of the day.
