Part 3 - On A San Francisco Street...

The night starry skies are lit not just by the moonlight, and not by its streetlights when they crossed over the humongous bridge that is called the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, but as Daniel Kimble drove past the tunnel before crossing over the western section of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, Aether could see the city lights on the skyline formed by its high-rises, skyscrapers and many other residential and commercial buildings across the area that Kimble calls it, the city of San Francisco, which is located on the northern end of the San Francisco Peninsula in Northern California, and according to Daniel Kimble, his place of residence. From the viewpoint as he crosses the bridge by car, Aether is astonished by not just the view, but the scale of the buildings themselves, and the infrastructure he is in. From starting out in a woodland forest now suddenly he is beamed when he reaches the urban area.

"It's the first city I've ever seen in my lifetime... At least in this world..."

"Your memory still fuzzy?" asked Kimble and Aether spoke with:

"Not really..."

"So, about family, you remember what happened? How you two got umm... separated, out in the dark forest all alone?"

Aether still didn't want to let Daniel know about what happened back in Teyvat as he knew that would create chaos on his very first day, and understandably, he may not have even known whether if such region that Aether was in could have existed, so rather than having to actually explain what happened back in Teyvat, he decided to fabricate with whatever story he can think of... He explained:

"Although we were only family, me and my sister named Lumine, although we are close, we... argue a lot sometimes. Things went sour and I just stormed off because we disagree on things on what we do or do not want to do. Long story short, I stormed off and I got lost and I fell off and was knocked out, and now I knew she already left before I came to so, that's pretty much it..."

"I see..." nodded Kimble, seemingly buying the story. As the two settle along, Aether asked as he reaches the western end of the Bay Bridge:

"So, that's the city where you lived right?"

"I was originally born in Berkley back in '83, we shuffle between here and there with my parents and siblings before I bought a home here 7 years ago..."

"'83?" Aether asked curiously. Kimble said: "I was born in 1983, I am about to turn 40 by Christmas Day,"

"Oh I see... When's Christmas Day going to happen?" asked Aether.

"December 25th, for most of the world at least. Depending on religious calendars, people celebrate Christmas in different time or days," he said

"So that makes him 39 years old, and he's born on December 25th, 1983... Hmm.. I like this new information though," thought Aether.

For the rest of the journey, it was an uneventful travel on the road, something in which Aether began to enjoy with all the comfort, amenities, and the vastness and quality of the technologies that he couldn't compare to Teyvat back when he was here from the moment he had been stuck there until their presumed death, especially as when he continued fumbling around the car entertainment system to check and to familiarize himself on how to operate such a machine he, again, had never seen back in Teyvat before. At one point, he even opens the radio in the car entertainment system, which allows Daniel to listen to the likes of music Aether himself had never heard of before... To him, he sound of saxophones, drums, percussion and kalimba, this is not something he heard before, but for Daniel, he felt more entertained and comfortable driving for the last several minutes...
