"Disarm the field." Qais ordered breathlessly.

Pasha stayed silent.

"Disarm the damn field, can't you hear me?!"

"You know its not possible, sir. You had ordered to install them yourself." Pasha's words were like an arrow to his conscience, reminding him of the extent of his animosity.

Qais wanted to tear at his hair. The mines were designed to kill, or in the very least mutilate anyone that dared to tread near his home. It was a security measure, but it was inhumane. How malicious had he been? How fucking cruel was he? And how badly had it come to bite him in the back!

Pasha panicked as the lord stormed out of there. Without a doubt heading towards the woods.

"Stop him-!" He shouted at the guards far ahead, unable to keep up with the lord.

There was a second of hesitancy in the guards as they debated over listening to Pasha and defying their master. But seeing him charge recklessly and blindly into the deathfield they had no choice but to stop him.

They attempted to tackle and obstacle the lord. In a fit of blind rage Qais fought against them, the trained young lord threw them to the ground like ragdolls one by one, managing a few steps forth until others would tackle him as there were dozens of them. But even then, they were no match for him.

He didn't care if he broke someone's bones or knock them down he was as brutal and impartial as a bull seeing red. If he had his gun on him he would've shot them without hesitation. The guards had began to panic.

"Get out of my fucking way." He thundered.

Just as he was about to snap the neck of a thrashing guard Pasha forcefully slammed a heavy rifle on his back stumbling him onto the ground and faltering his hold just enough for the asphyxiating guard to escape. Qais grunted at the hard impact and without sparing a second Pasha tackled him onto the ground, brutally pressing onto his fresh injury desperately trying to subdue his rage with pain.

Having been by his side for so long, witnessing his training to his executions, Pasha was the only one who could equal him in a fight. He couldn't win, but he could hold him back for a while with the help of three other guards.

"Please, sir-stop- you can't go in there." He pleaded the grunting and cursing lord.

"I'm going to fucking end you Pasha get the fuck off me!" Qais seethed against his hold, oscillating between rage and panic. With each passing second his hysteria got worse as he thought of Layla being in that minefield.

"You need to calm down, sir, you can't help her if you get hurt yourself!"

"If you don't step back I'm going to have you beg for death, Pasha."

But even as he threatened him, Pasha only saw the vulnerability in those blue eyes. They were full of fear and hysteria as they kept looking at the forest. As if his a piece of his soul was trapped there.

His hoarse voice broke down. "I can't leave her in there."

It stabbed through Pasha's stone heart. And he almost gave up. But fisting his hands determinedly, he heaved in exertion and anxiousness, "One minute. Just trust me for one minute, sir. I've sent for the map. We'll follow it."

Sure enough, several frantic servants came running down holding out the map. "We've got it!"

Pasha and the guards finally let go of Qais, the guards instantly backed yards away from the seething lord in fear of him taking his retaliation. Pasha too stayed a safe distance away. Qais glared at them ominously, a promise to deal with them later on. They had their lives flash in front of their eyes. They could only pray nothing happened to the girl.
