Cleo watched you from across the cafeteria with a smirk on her face. The group she was with talked endlessly about everything, and Cleo had managed to tune them out to focus on you.
Focusing on you had become a lot easier over the 4 years she had went to school with you. With it finally being your last year of high school, Cleo was determined to make some kind of interaction with you.
She wasn't sure why she wanted to talk to you so badly. She wasn't sure why you were the center of her attention. Maybe she liked you?
She had been debating that for a while. Cleo went back and forth; she loved you, she loved you not.
But after seeing the smile you held while talking to Gigi, Cleo realized quickly that her attraction was growing, and the idea of her liking you turned into her knowing that she loved you.
But how would she get your attention?
Cleo's ears perked up at the conversation her table was having.
"A party?" She asked.
"Yeah! Weren't you listening?" Frankie asked. "Manny's hosting an end-of-the-year party!"
"Next Friday!" Draculaura added.
Cleo's smirk widened. An idea had struck her. "Be right back." She hummed, and she stood to her feet and made her way to your table.
"Gigi, (Y/N), hi!" Cleo approached you cautiously, almost as if being too close to you would melt her.
Gigi raised a brow. Something was up, she knew it.
"Hey, Cleo." You smiled politely to her, hoping that she'd be equally as nice to you as you were to her. You had heard some bad things about the fearleader captain, and you wanted to stay away from whatever she had to offer.
"So...there's a party next friday." She smiled sweetly, finding it impossible to be threatening to you.
"Okay, and?" Gigi crossed her arms. She, too, had heard the negative things about Cleo.
Cleo glared at your friend, who shared the staring. The air instantly became tense. You wanted to escape, you had to!
You smiled at Cleo again. "So, what about this party?" You asked, hoping to keep the peace between the two.
"I want you to go with me!" She held a knowing grin. You wouldn't turn her down. You were too meek and shy. It was obvious you'd agree to whatever, as long as it seemed comfortable.
"I-I don't know..." You looked at your tray of food.
"It'll be so much fun!" Cleo pushed. "I'll pick you up, and you can stay with me the whole time!"
You squinted your eyes. You barely knew Cleo personally, and after hearing the rumors about the popular girl, you were sure it would end up bad.
Her staring pressured you, and you finally broke after a moment of silence.
"Sure..."
"Great! I'll give you my number, and you can text me! Be ready by 8!" Cleo rushed away, eager to brag to her group about her accomplishment.
"You sure this is a good idea?" Gigi asked.
You sighed in defeat. "No."
The day you had been dreading came sooner than expected, leaving you to stand in the mirror to admire your outfit. A simple dress was enough for you, and you twirled around a few times to be sure it suited you perfectly.
