Lay a Card
Lorie Jen Rojo
I.
You played my heart,
and it was a poker game.
When you're the jack of all trades,
and the joker of the whole thing.
II.
I'm the queen of hearts,
mirroring itself,
seeing it's reflection,
underneath it's waist.
III.
My world was not square
nor fair,
you tore me apart.
I don't know it's a game .
IV.
The world was round
and there are 52 cards.
including 4 lonely kings,
and 4 lonely Queens.
V.
The three had found their pair
But where's mine?
The joker played it all around
Discarding My king of hearts.
