"Young Thomas, what a surprise!"
A man wearing suit see us arriving in the restaurant and comes in our direction.
"I'll call the Chef to welcome you," says the man, who seems to be in his 40s.
He shakes Thomas' hands, and Thomas gives a kind smile.
"There's no need, David. Today we're here as appreciators," he explains, and then he looks at me. "David, this is Sarah, a friend."
David is tall, chubby, and smiling. I open a smile for him when I see his eyes shining in my direction.
"Welcome, Sarah." He shakes my hand. "She's lovely," he blinks to Thomas. "Such a beautiful woman needs a special table," his voice goes lower than necessary.
If I could see my face, I would plainly see a blushed one. Thomas smiles, and I can bet this is because of my embarrassment. Filthy.
David takes us to a table with a panoramic view to the beach. Thomas let me pass him, and I follow David. I feel his eyes stating my back, with no shame. I try to distract myself by looking to the ocean through those large glasses surrounding the Sharon Hotel. The view is magnificent. The sea seems so calm from here, everything is so quiet. When we get to the table, I silently thank David for choosing a large table, and not one those narrow ones for couples, which would make things more personal. As we were a real couple.
"Are ready to order? Can I bring you some wine while you talk?" David blinks to Thomas while we sit on the chairs.
Can he stop doing that? Damned it!
"We're going to have some wine before our order gets ready. The usual, David." Thomas likes the idea. "We're going leave it at the mercy of the Chef. Tell him to surprise us."
He stares at me with a silent question in his eyes. I notice that the problem is if it is okay to trust the Chef. I accept his choice with a smile and feel satisfied.
David's eyes shine in excitement, and he goes towards the kitchen. I think Thomas' visit is the acme of his day. And why wouldn't it be? Thomas is influent and well succeeded; his presence must leave everyone in the restaurant agitated.
I stare at the chubby man walk among the tables, and my eyes are looking all over the place. The restaurant has no walls everything is overlaid with glass that surrounds the building. This makes the area more lit up, not to mention the beach that looks like a painting. A beautiful view for the eyes. Thomas notices my fascination.
"This place is so beautiful, isn't it? " he asks.
I turn my attention back to Thomas, and I catch him staring at my astonishment.
"It's gorgeous," I confirm it, turning my eyes to the view. "Everything is so calm from here."
I look at the tiny cars below.
