The tension in the room made the silence awkward, and highly uncomfortable.

I cleared my throat with a bit of a cough as she fiddled with her fingers giving her a side-eye glance, she spoke. "Um...Hey, have you seen my phone anyway? I must have dropped it when I was getting chased by that guy?".

I thought about it, and then realization hit me, and she did indeed drop her phone and I had it on me. I just didn't want to tell her first. "You mean this one," I said, pulling it out of my pocket to show her the device in my hand.

She gasped before I held it out to her and gestured to her to take it since it belonged to her anyway. The smile that came onto her face made my insides collapse on each other. What is this oddly attractive woman doing to me?

I can't explain it.

I glance at her with my eyes, just staring. I was staring for far too long when her eyes locked with mine, with a sad smile. A frown made its way onto my face. "What?". I mattered in worry, looking down at her phone to find that there were multiple missed calls and messages.

"They tried reaching me, but I couldn't answer them. What am I supposed to do?". She questions as she brings her hands to her face in guilt.

I bit my lip in thought as it was time to make a decision that would probably make me get into trouble for, well she doesn't live here, and in fact, she was opposed to being at home with her family and boyfriend, four days ago.

When we- I mean, me that found her almost getting murdered by some guy. It turns out that, that guy was indeed after her and possibly her family, but for what reason?

It was unknown, but the pack and I could track, and force him to talk. If possible that is. Why is it that I always save people from their problems or family problems, and possibly relationship problems, also? How troublesome.

But it's not like I had problems of my own with my relationship with Ava. But, it's best if I don't talk about that right now. It will bring up the passed and I don't do tears.

"Hey, Elijah," Her voice sounded in and out as I was so in my thoughts, she had placed a reassuring hand on my hands, snapping me out of it with my body jumping in surprise. "Are you okay? You zoned out there for a second?."

"Y-yeah, I'm fine." I stuttered a bit before standing up and off of the bed that I was seated on, giving her a once-over glance her way.

"Do you want me to drive you back home? It's been Four days." I told her crossing my arms over my chest with an eyebrow raised. Anastasia's eyes went wide in shock. "W-what?!." she shouted out.

I sighed looking down before I responded, "You have been out for a least two days when that man chased you, and one day when I practically...you know, almost murdered you in the forest, remember?". I explained with both of my brows farrowing together, with my arms still folded over my chest as I gave her a look.

Anastasia's face was blank with shock. I leaned my body on the wall with comfortable silence in the air, no one speaking and I had an expression of confusion on my face. She must have a concussion. I thought looking down once again.

She must have. It is the only way for me to be this confused and don't understand without remembering anything. I sighed running my hands through my hair before breaking the silence within the room.

"You must have a concussion. When you hit your head that day you were running". She looked and felt her eyes shift towards me, breaking her thoughts away. The look that she's giving me sends an unknowingly chill down my spine- or should I say my wolf's spine.

"Right, I remember now," she whispers getting up from her spot and looking outside my window from my room in thought. It made my ears prick up at her response in wonder.

It was quiet for a second before she spun her body around, directly facing me with widened eyes as a gasp slipped from her lips like she remembered what happened, "I was walking to the grocery store to pick up something for a meal that night, and..." she pauses to glance at me, and took a step forward my way, before continuing.

"When I got what I needed and walked out after paying. I decided to take a long way home to clear my thoughts since I always overthink when I feel someone is following me. So I took the chance and went the shorter way way instead. I did thought, I lost him when I turned that corner on that street to the forest, but...boy, was I wrong. He had other Plains," she explained in full detail of what had happened that night, why she looked confused and in pain so many times.

I thought, maybe I made her get into more pain when I tried to murder her in cold blood. But, thank goodness Rosalie was there to stop before I had laid into her.

She told the rest of what happened. Told me that he had come at her with a knife while she tried escaping from him, that she tripped over a tree root within the ground and had injured her hand on impact. While also told me that, she heard something. Like a howling sound between the trees as she had gotten up before bolting away. But the man had grappled her before she could run anymore, slamming her into the ground and possibly injuring her head, which he did, from the force of his shoving her.

"And then, someone or something had saved me and killed the man before everything else was just a blur. I did hear voices and that was it. Now I'm here in your house." she finishes in one deep breath as I nod in understanding.

"Fair enough" was my reply with a small little sigh coming out of her lips as she scoffed at my response. She pouted in annoyance while I smirked at her secretly.

"Is that all your going to say, is 'fair enough. You cold-hearted prick!" she shouted grabbing one of my pillows, and chunking it at me as I dodged the item and let it slap and smack onto the ground while laughing.
