What Happened to Margaux Patio during Half-Moon

Chapter 1

"I have to go ahead. Help out Dr. Ivy for the meantime. I may or may not be back after a while." One of the city's well-known doctors found herself running towards the hospital exit, simultaneously taking off her lab coat. After receiving a call after a surgery, she found herself rushing to inform her cousin, Dr. Ivy Patio, who also happened to receive a call from Joseph Patio, her father.

"Yes, Dr. Eve." The nurses and fellow doctors nodded as Eve ran out of the hospital and into her car that immediately roared to life and sped off. For Dr. Eve and Dr. Ivy Patio, they don't seem to have much problem with leaving the hospital in case of family emergencies. Besides, they're doctors of Peter Patio Sr. Memorial Medical Center, a hospital under the Patio Corporation owned by Mrs. Margaux Patio.

And speeding off to Patio Law Firm, there is indeed a family emergency.

If not for the traffic in the city, she would have reached the firm in under five minutes. She reached the place after ten minutes which was surprisingly busy, giving her the impression that her sister received the call, but didn't answer.

"Deborah." She called so loud that it startled the firm secretary and the clients waiting for their turn, "Deborah."

"I'm sorry, Dr. Eve." The secretary answered but was cut-off, "Atty. Deborah is busy-"

"It's alright, Lily." A sweet male voice smiled at the secretary, praised and told her to continue her work, "Eve, what brings you here?" The male, who is Deborah's Associate Attorney Peter Lee, asked.

"Peter, I need to speak with Deborah." Eve answered.

"Eve, Deborah has a lot of clients today-"

"It's grandma." And it was enough for Peter's eyes to go wide before they both sped to Deborah's office, Peter slamming the door open that surprised everyone inside.

"Atty. Deborah." Peter called.

"Peter, I'm still with a client-" The young lawyer smiled, fixing her glasses while giving the clients an apologetic smile. Her smile faded, however, when she saw her sister, "Eve?"

"I need to talk to you." Eve said with urgency in her tone. Deborah then nodded and smiled at her clients.

"How about we tackle this some other time?" She asked when the clients nodded, "I'll let you know once I am available." The clients smiled and thanked Deborah before leaving the office, leaving Deborah, Eve and Peter, "What is it?"

"Dad called." Eve said as Deborah looked at her phone and received a few missed calls from their father, David Patio, "I ended my shift early, Jet's on his way and Ivy called some of our family members and is about to end her shift early and also be on her way?"

"What?" Deborah scrunched her face in confusion, "Where? What happened?"

"It's grandma." Eve said, the next reveal is too shocking for both Deborah and Peter, "She's dead. And we're going to her house."

As soon as Eve's news left her lips, Deborah found herself up and running, dialing someone on the phone and waiting for him to respond. She left the firm immediately with Eve following close behind, Peter insisting that he'll take care of the firm and will follow suit to Patio's estate.

Meanwhile, Jet Patio, Diana Patio-Brodie and her brother Eugene Jr.'s cars were on a convoy trail, speeding up on their way to their grandmother's estate. Given that they worked as policemen and investigators, they were the first contact of David Patio, who is a retired investigator. Five minutes earlier, Anthony Armstrong went his separate way after leaving the camp to inform his wife, Amy Patio-Armstrong and his brother-in-law Peter Patio III.

"Baby?" James Ramsay, a well-known model, answered the call, "Are you crying?" He asked as he heard Diana's sniffs from the other line.

"Grandma's dead, James." Diana sobbed, "Uncle David called. She's gone."

"Okay, okay." James tried to calm her down, "Where are you right now?"

"I'm on my way to grandma's house with EJ (Eugene Jr.) and Jet."

"Okay." James sighs, comforting Diana, "I'll be on my way to the estate, alright? Hang in there. I love you."

"I love you too." Diana said before the call ended, their location was closer now to the estate.
