A lie that you've been hearing since the moment you were born.
If it really did matter then why were you treated like trash even after all the efforts you put into your work and personality?
A blatant lie...
I was baffled by the unexpected demand by my apartment owner.
How could I pay that much amount suddenly?
"Yeah. It's only because of this, that I'm being lenient. I'm in need of money and the builder is giving me enough. So it's either you pay me more rent or I'll sell this place.", she firmly declared.
"But you should've at least given me a notice a month prior! How can I leave this place in a week!", I yelled out in disbelief.
"I can't do much about it. Leave this place in a week or double the rent.", she looked unbothered which made my blood boil in anger.
"I'll file a police case against you! It's illegal!"
Her eyes narrowed as she glared at me in utmost wrath finally breaking her facade of nonchalance.
"Then go and try ugly b*tch! I'll see what you can do! The builders promised me that they'll look after any tenants who create any fuss. Leave this place b*tch and do yourself a favor."
My eyes widened at the sudden curse yelled my way. This is the same lady that I looked after in her bad times because her kids neglected her.
Now where will I go on a short notice like that?
"You can't do this to me Ms. Seung!", I screamed in desperation yet her face twisted in utmost anger.
"I am doing this! Now forget about a week, and leave this place before midnight today! Or I'll throw you out myself!!!"
She turned away making my eyes widen at her words.
Today?!
She wasn't able to leave, when I held her arm, trying to hold her from leaving.
"Please ajhumma! Where will I find a place this soon! Where would I take all my stuff!"
She yanked my arm away before turning to me with a judging look.
"The same place where you were living three years ago? I can't believe I let in a girl who has no background and no family."
