THIRD PERSON'S POV
--------------------
With a small smile embracing her tinted lips, she reached the door knob before pulling it in. But the person in front of her wasn't the one she expected it to be.
"Hello.... Miss y/n."
"Taehyung?", she let out the name, eyes slightly widened at the sight of the man in his tawny trench coat.
He hesitantly smiled at her startled reaction, looking around in reluctance before inhaling a deep breath.
"There's something important to talk about.", he returned to her, eyes closely examining her change of facial expressions.
"Can I come in?"
......
Holding the warm ceramic mug with both of his hands, he slowly peeked at the woman in front of him who had completely changed in the matter of a few months.
She looked different. But that was all physically.
For him, she looked like just the first time he saw her, or all that time that she spent working on the table few desks away from his.
She looked..... just like herself.
"I didn't know what happened that day..... If I had, maybe I could help you somehow....."
"I've come far from all that.", she breathed.
He sensed that the topic was still hurtful for her. Deciding not to dig up the past, he placed the mug in his hand aside at the coffee table before focusing his entire concentration on the woman in front of him.
"I'll come to the point then. Hoseok..... he wants you to come back. He've realized how wrong he was to fire an employee without any solid evidences. He's ashamed. He even proposed to promote you to a higher position...."
"I'm sorry.", she interrupted making him go completely silent.
"I already have a job. And I'm extremely satisfied with it."
He sighed rubbing his forehead in a stressful manner before firmly shaking his head.
"It can't. He've exclusively assigned me the task to get you back in the company. I can't return like this. Please reconsider my....."
"You're still bound to those tasks....", she sipped on the warm latte, the metallic red mug shined in her pale hands. "I'm not."
He was stunned. It was the first time he saw her talk so boldly. All the time before he'd only seen her quietly listen to others.
"I don't need to work hours long past the office hours anymore.", she continued looking straight into his eyes. "I don't need to be laughed at for the way I look or present myself all the time.", her words followed a silence making his heart race at the intensity of her gaze.
"And I don't need to listen to people letting out their frustrations on me anymore.", it was like the words were meant for him which made him drown in embarrassment.
