<14>. The meeting

Seungmin POV:

My phone lit up.

I picked it up wondering who the fuck texted me at 2 in the morning.

'Reji.. um she's ok? Ig? Why r u asking'

A message from Junho after 2 days.

And about yesterday. I don't know what even happened. I didn't go to work. I just couldn't.

I just didn't know how to.

But i got a call from Starie. A colleague of mine.

Also yeonjuns best friend.

Somehow my whole life has something related to yeonjun.

He was my friend when I was little. Very little.

Then we somehow lost contact but I had Charlotte. Then after 17 years, I met reji.

Yeonjun was her ex. Which I was surprised about.

Then I figured out I worked with his best friend.

Surprise surprise.

Then I realised.. a bit too late.. that Yeonjun was Charlottes brother.

And I was shocked as fuck.

Like you won't understand.

And out of all people. I was also been put in charge to figure out how he died.

Fun isn't it?

It's been a few months and everyone thinks he just died by accident, 'too much alcohol' is what they say.

I don't believe it. He barely drank shit.

Surely it has more to it?

And somehow I have to prove it.

I have Charlotte, Starie, and well.. I don't know.

I called them over today to atleast try figure something out. Let's hope we get somewhere.

"I'm surprised Hyunjin isn't here," Starie says as soon as she sits down.

I give her a confused look.

"They're best friends, they went to the club together wearing exactly the same clothes for fun, which didn't end well but that's another topic," Starie says resting her hands on the table.

This felt too serious.

Charlotte just nods.

I quickly grab my phone telling Hyunjin to come over, whether he was busy or not.

And as we waited it got awkward. I drank some of my coffee and tried to start a conversation.

"How do you know that?" I ask looking at Starie in the eye.

She clears her throat looking a bit scared in a way.

"I was there, at the club.. with yeonjun," She sighs, with sadness filling her eyes.

"What?!" Me and Charlotte say in unison.

Starie nods.

"Then what the fuck happened to my brother," Charlotte raised her voice.

I tell her to calm down.

"I wasn't there when he died, I went there after he died," Starie whispers.

I don't know how but something sounds a bit fishy.

Or maybe it's just me.

And then the door flings open revealing Hyunjin looking out of breath.

I give him a weird look telling him to chill and sit.

" BRO I RAN FOR MY LIFE AND YALL LOOKING LIKE ZAI DIED OR SOMETHING WHAT THE HECK WERE YALL ON ABOUT?! " Hyunjin yells.

I laugh. I told him that Zai is in the hospital and told him to come here.

To speeden the process of course.

And it worked.

"Don't worry I was joking,"  I laugh.

Starie, who realised 1 Minute too late about what happened started choking on.. nothing? Dying of laughter herself.

"Sorry, long time no see bro," she says hugging Hyunjin.

Hyunjin looked horrifyed. Poor guy. I don't think he had enough time to process who it was hugging him.

And as that was happening, Zai walks through the door and takes a seat next to Charlotte.

The others looked between her and me. Confused.

"Yeah, I just thought if Hyunjin was here, we needed his girlfriend too," I smile awkwardly.

"WE'RE NOT DATING!" Hyunjin and Zai said at the same time.

Looks like they got that from experience.

"Fuck that, Zai you're alive," Hyunjin cried going over to Zai.

Zai side eyed him.

"This whore told him you died," Charlotte said blaming me.

I just sat there. Staring at Starie, who looked a bit scared as soon as I told her what we were going to talk about.

She refused to come at first saying 'She doesn't know how to do any crime solving and that she was busy' but I made her.

And she hasn't been talking too much. She is a bubbly and talkative person.

What was she hiding?

A/N: OK don't mind these 2 chaps. They were low key rushed so they're not good.

But (I count 2 chaps as 1)

HOW TF DID I MANAGE TO WRITE NEARLY 2K WORDS IN 1 CHAP?!

And updates 2 days in a row!!

Cuz she asked to be in this book. I literally had no idea how to add her in at first but now I've got it.
