Hey my name is Iris Marie Densyl. Daughter of solider Ryan Densyl. My dad was shipped to Iraq before I was even born. We talk on the phone a lot but I've never met him in person. See, him and my mom are divorced, which makes my mother a total witch. She does nothing but scream at and hit me. I've never really told my dad this however... I mean because what can he even do.
"IRIS!" screamed my mother "GET DOWN HERE NOW!"
"yeah?"
"WHY THE F*** IS THE SINK FULL OF DISHES?"
"I didn't know I was supposed t-"
SMACK***
"JUST GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!"I ran to my room almost in tears.
All I can think about is how much I freaking hate it here.
15 minutes of throwing stuff around later my phone rang.
"Dad" came on the screen.
"Hello?" I said silently.
"Hey girly what's up? You sound upset."
"It's nothing" I lied.
"Tell me Iris Ann."
"Mom... She hasn't been the same lately... She's drinking... Yelling... Smacking..."
"I knew I couldn't trust that woman." he growled
"I just don't know what to do."
"I never thought I'd have to ask this... But do you want to come down and stay at the war zone?"
Iris had to ponder for awhile.
