After 2 says in the ICU I finally rerurned to the base. Luckily things between my dad and I are great. It turns out him and I have many things in common.
I've been trying to get up the courage to ask him why he did what he did.
"Dad, can I ask you an honest question."
"Sure, what's up?"
"Why did you.... Shoot me."
"Oh Iris... I really didn't want to tell you..."
"Please."
~Silence~
"We were getting bombed by North Korea because we failed to complete a trade... I didn't want you to be hurt or even worse killed. But I knew you'd be safe in the hospital."
"Oh..." I felt awful thinking of him as a bad person.
"After not seeing you for 16 years I wasn't about to lose you that quickly, your brother and I..."
"Brother?" I interrupted "I was always told I was an only child."
"Yes, before I left 17 years ago your brother was born, I decided to take him with me since we're short handed."
"I-I-is he still here?"
"He is on plate 99.0 right now... You shall meet him soon enough"
I was learning more about myself each day... Maybe coming out here isn't the worst thing I've ever done.(Sorry again for a short useless chapter... I promise the next one will be the best one yet!)
