Chapter 7

˚✧ ✧˚

"I'm going to be completely honest I don't really understand what Dr. Ruby is asking us to do TBH." I groan as Henry throws a balled-up piece of paper at my face, and I scoff, eyes wide.

"You did not just do that, is that really how you want to play this?" he smirks as I launch myself onto my raised bed, where he has been sitting for the duration of me doing my homework.

"What are you gonna do about it, Raine?" He pushes back, throwing another and I have nothing left to do but retaliate. "You are so on Henry!" I launch myself off the bed, making a run for the door but he's too fast and he catches me, dragging me backwards before throwing me over his shoulder.

I've learned quite a few things about him in the last few weeks that I never would have pieced together before, one being that he's a criminal justice major, he plays hockey which I would have reckoned he played football, and he is secretly a genius, especially when it comes to deciphering literature.

"Am I interrupting something?" the door opens suddenly, revealing a very confused Val catching us red-handed. Henry's face tinges pink as he sets me down, and I clear my throat. "We were just doing homework, that's all."

"Mhm I totally believe that," She clears her throat as she drops her books on her desk and makes herself at home on my bed next to my computer.

"Val what are you doing?" I raise an eyebrow and she smiles innocently. "I will not allow you to cloud this room with straight sex, so I am now your babysitter. So go ahead and do what you were doing before. What was that again... 'studying'?"

I roll my eyes, sighing, before grabbing my computer and flopping down next to Henry's large frame at the base of my bed. "Raine you do realize this was due yesterday right?"

My eyes widen and I grab the computer from him, looking at the due date for the assignment and it reads for tomorrow. I immediately shove him sideways, knocking him on his side as he snickers. "You fucking asshole"

"You fell for it so easily." he chuckles, laying his head on my shoulder as I click back into my assignment. It doesn't take long for me to finish the assignment from there with Henry's help as Val continues to stare at us from my bed.

"Okay, while you do live here, I would love it if you would please just leave me alone. It's starting to get weird with you staring at us from my bed..." she holds her hands up in defense as she jumps off the bed, grabbing her fanny pack and her key from her desk where she left it earlier.

"Fine I'll go. But remember... no glove, no love!" she yells the last part before she exits the room, the door slamming behind her. "Jesus, she is something else now, isn't she." Henry shakes his head before standing up and extending his hand out to me.

"That's Val for you. Struck the lotto with that one." I utter sarcastically, grabbing his hand as he pulls me up to a standing position.

"Feel like getting food before you go kill yourself at practice later?" he asks and I immediately nod, my stomach growling at the thought of food.

"You know something..." I ask him as I grab all of the stuff I need, including my key card. He hums in response, slinging his backpack over his shoulder, and I sigh. "When do I get to meet your roommates? You've had the pleasure to meet Val, so when do I get to meet yours? I know you live in an apartment; that's about all I know."

"You never asked, so I never told you." he shrugs and I grumble under my breath. "Hen that wasn't an answer." he eyes me as I stare up at him, my eyes full of curiosity. "So are you gonna tell me or..."
