"You coming to the party tonight Raine? I heard Lulu and the soccer house throw the best game of boom cup?" Lindy asks as finish another practice this week, luckily this was the last one of the week. Val and I hadn't really been on speaking terms recently since every time I tried to talk to her she ignored me. Which proved to be quite hard since we shared a room.
"Not sure if that is my speed." I sigh, shoving my shin guards into my soccer backpack. "C'mon you have to. You don't even need to drink. Parker said that they are making us freshman play hot seat. It'll be a fun opportunity to actually get to know the team. Please!" she begs as Asa nods beside her.
"You gotta at least show up Ray, for me?" Asa gives me her best pouty face and eventually I give in. "Fine.. Fine, but if I'm not having any fun I get a free ride home, no questions asked." I sigh, giving both of them a serious look and thry both nod eagerly. "Okay then we will swing by your room later to pick you up and we'll walk." Lindy flashes me a smile and we're off.
By the time I made it back to the room Val was already gone, no trace of her being there at all. I had only learned a few things about her in the past three days. One is that she sleeps in a sports bra and boxers, exclusively. The second is that strictly listens to country music and Post Malone, nothing else. The last is that she calls a girl on the phone two days a week, not sure if it's a friend or more than that, she never sticks around in the room long enough for me to hear anything other than her name, Gemma.
I take a quick shower before I change into a pair of ripped jeans and a band tee, pulling on my pandas as a knock sounds at the door. "coming!" I hop over to the door, opening it to see lindy, frankie and asa. they enter the room before I can utter another word, making a place on the floor.
"Okay so I brought a box of White Claws and apple crown so I was thinking we could take a shot or two and then head over," Lindy pulls the bottle of crown out of the backpack she had on and my eyes widen. "How the hell did you get that?"
"I've had a fake ID since I was 16. Genetics did the rest." She grins as she pulls out the shot glasses and starts pouring and my nose immediately crinkles at the smell. I hadn't been to too many parties in my high school career. I was more focused on school and soccer but I'd had my fair share of alcohol just hadn't ever liked taking shots, especially without a chaser.
"Okay bottoms up and then we'll hit the road." I tilt the tiny glass back, trying not to think about the taste. "Okay let's go before this alcohol ejects itself." Jaide laughs and we start to walk to the house.
"So what's the story with the soccer house?" I ask as we walk across campus, Asa and frankie swinging hands like little kids. "Not much of a story just kind of a shitty Somerset house that's passed down from teammate to teammate. Thus, the name soccer house I guess." she shrugs and I roll my eyes.
"I'm so glad you guys made it!" Parker grins as she opens the door, bass booming in the background. "Drinks are in the cooler in the corner, we're playing pong downstairs and boom cup is starting in fifteen. have fun guppies!" she pats us on the back and then she's gone.
"Well I guess key the four years of alcoholism" Lindy grins, cracking open a white claw, handing it to me and I take a sip, not thinking. before I know it we're three cans down and in the middle of the room playing ride the bus.
"Ace! you drink four times Raine!" Lulu shouts at me as she flips the last card up and I groan, taking my drinks as my head starts to spin. "I gotta stop playing this game." I slur, getting up from my seat, stumbling a little.
"Okay how about we get you upstairs and to the bathroom to get some water." Lulu grabs my arm before I can fall again. "Lightweight eh?" I nod and she laughs, "Knew it, Your're first time drinking?"
"No, I dabbled a little in high school but never in a party setting. A lot different from my brother and I stealing my parents' alcohol while they're away on business."
"You have a brother?" she asks as I take a seat on the ground and she pours me a glass of water.
"Yep, I'm a triplet so I have a sister who goes here and a brother who is going to Harvard." her eyes widen. "Shit so there's like a carbon copy of you walking around campus here huh? Who's older?"
"Me, then Cal and then Violet. Quite the trio I'd say though. We all have very different personalities. " I miss us. then the door swings open, interrupting us.
"god you feel so good." is the first thing the comes out of Val's mouth as she basically devours the blonde she's kissing, definetly not put of the soccer team.
"ehmmm." Lulu clears her throat and the two break their kiss and the blonde turns a dark shade of pink. "I'm so sorry, we didn't know anyone was in here."
"It's okay." Lulu brushes it off as they leave, shutting the door behind them. "Well Parker owes me twenty dollars." I raise my eyebrows and she laughs.
"I said that Val was into girls and she said no way, that it was too stereotypical. Clearly I was right." she snorts as I take a sip of water, almost spitting it out. "she's a walking lesbian flag, how could she not know. Has she watched the way she dresses or walks?"
"I don't know man, that was my thought process too. Now hot seat is starting soon so lets go. You're sober enough to make it through the game." she pats me on the back, leading me out of the bathroom and sitting us down in the living room.
"okay name of the is hot seats and this happens every year at the first party we throw. Guppies take turns in the seat in the middle of the room and we ask them any question we want and the person in the hot seat has to tell the truth. If you don't want to answer you drink and this goes on until the five minutes are over. Now whoever draws the highest card goes first." Parker goes around giving all six of us a card.
I flip mine over and it's an ace, I'm definitely last. everyone shows their cards and val is first. she sits down and the timer starts. "Right off the bat, are you dating anyone?" Lulu asks, giving me a look and she nods.
"yes her name is Gemma, we went to high school together and she goes to the University of Colorado." she smirks and I refrain from rolling my eyes. Fucking cheater. "What's your body count?" asa asks and she picks up her white claw, taking a sip.
the rest of the questions are pretty basic after that. top or bottom, which we already know the answer to. best quality in a girl. tits or ass and all the other shallow ass questions college students ask.
I blink and then her five minutes are up. Asa goes next and I learn that she bi, has nipple pericings and 6 tattoos. Lindy has a boyfriend of 4 years named Toby that she's known since childhood, lost her virginity at 16 and has never had car sex. frankie was pretty hard to crack but she had just broken up with her long term boyfriend who she had done everything with, and then it was my turn.
"You're up Raine, take your seat and we'll start the clock." parker leads me to the folded chair in the center and hands me a drink as she starts the clock. "Okay how many partners have you had?" frankie fires right away and I giggle. "two."
"Boy or girl?" she smirks and I roll my eyes. "One of each actually, like to keep my options open."
"any tattoos?"
"two, one behind my ear and the other on my ribs." The one behind my ear was a matching flower with violet and the one on my ribs was a pair of branched out lungs for cf awareness.
"body count?"
"two. lame I know."
"craziest place you've had sex?"
"a public beach."
"top or bottom?"
"either I don't mind giving."
the rest of the questions are pretty basic and nothing I had never been asked before, drinking a few times for theatrics. we end the night walking home, surprisingly with Val in tow. I guess now I know five things about her. She's a cheater.
