Greetings to you all and welcome to this book, the sequel to Caught.
This book is for those who want to spend more time with the main couple while also discovering more about their friends, families, and the world around them.
Unlike the first book, which was fast-paced and focused mainly on the relationship between Shira and Taira, this one takes a slightly different approach. Here, the worldbuilding, politics, and behind-the-scenes intrigues are explored in more depth.
At the same time, the heart of the story – the bond between the main characters – remains at the center, only now joined by a wider perspective.
The structure is also a bit different: it's written more like a series of interconnected stories. The first two take place before the events of Caught (you can skip them if you wish, but they provide extra context). The later stories, starting with Enemies and Friends, continue directly where the first book ended. Most chapters are still told from Taira's point of view, but you'll also meet other narrators along the way.
The tone, pacing, and length of each story vary – some are action-driven, others more introspective, focusing on relationships and character interactions – but they all connect and build upon one another.
As in the original book, you can expect some violence, intimate moments, and the relationship between two men. Please keep that in mind.
