Latissimus had proved to be the hardest, most elusive target Godbrand had ever vowed to catch. He initiated collaboration with the magistrates of the other provinces of the Underworld.
"Godbrand, you're aware that Latissimus can move freely between the Underworld and Heaven, yes?" Asked a mature demon named Raidus, magistrate of the Ulysses Province. "The man could be anywhere, at any time!"
"I understand that what I'm asking for may seem unrealistic and improbable, however I would ask that you all at least try. Keep your police units on the lookout and keep them at the ready just in case you see him at some point."
"Hmm, I suppose we could try and keep tabs on him," said Teobaldo of the Wicca Province. "Really, it is the least Sir Godbrand could ask of us. Consider it done."
"Thank you, Sir Teobaldo," said Godbrand. The other magistrates agreed that they'd have all their police units on deck and at the ready.
Raiddus's hand fell onto Godbrand's shoulder. "We'll get this son of a bitch," said Raidus.

As Xavier was dusting shelves, he overheard Godbrand and Oriana speaking about the other magistrates and how they were all on alert for Latissimus. He walked into the office.
"Hi," he said. "So, you really are still looking for Latissimus…"
"Yes, Love," said Godbrand.
"There was no way to convince Godbrand to let him go, Xavier. This man is as stubborn as a mule."
"Yes it's called 'setting a goal and achieving it no matter what.' I'm sorry Xavier, but Latissimus can't be overlooked. He's already caused too much pain and chaos. And so much of it within my jurisdiction."
Xavier nodded. "I understand. I know some things just can't be forgiven."
Godbrand nodded and spoke—
"Now's a good time to tell you both that I'll be working late with the police captain tonight. There's no need to wait up for me because I'll be back in the wee hours of the morning."
After kissing Xavier and Oriana goodnight, Godbrand left to maintain his duties to Antonello Province.
"Don't you get worried about him, Mistress?" Asked Xavier. "Now I kind of find myself concerned with him leaving so late at night."
"I do. Every time he leaves. But like I said, Godbrand is stubborn and devoted. He'll keep working out there this late in spite of my warnings. He's strong, though, and I know he can handle anybody that tries it with him. It's part of the reason why I fell in love with him," she laughed.
"Now Xavier, I want you to share some information with me. How exactly was it when you first met Latissimus?"
"…When we first met, I had just been created by Yggdra. It was hard since a lot of the angel believed in you finding your own way. There just wasn't much assistance for you even though you were new and didn't really know what to do yet."
Xavier continued—
"Latissimus was different from the rest of them, though. Like an older brother, which technically he was, he was extremely helpful and understanding and… kind. Now, seeing his actions, I have my theory that he wasn't really any of those things. He never had been, ever since he was created by Yggdra. I can't fathom what happened, but I just know that something went wrong in the creation process."
"But, I thought Yggdra was infallible?" Said Oriana.
"In theory, yes." Xavier chuckled. "You know, if I were still in heaven, this would be be complete blasphemy to say. I know He messed up somewhere, even though it hurts a little to say it."
Oriana kissed him to distract him from the the exhausting thoughts.
"Come on; it's bedtime," she said softly.
