"Is this the best you all came up with?" Joss was flabbergasted by the demo he was watching. "The scenery, the characters, the modes, they are all bland! The essence of the original is not there at all! I don't even think any of you even played the original at all!"
"We did sir-"
"Oh, did you?" Joss sneered. "What did you do, log in once in a week or two and roam around the village? The duels, the obstacles, the villainous boss characters, the NPCs, you didn't even try to be the least bit creative! Are you all telling me we pay you tons for coming up with this crap? Or are you all this relaxed because against you is an amateur and inexperienced team?" he asked. "Let me tell you, as a veteran Chinese ghost story player, I've been playing the same game for the past four years and I haven't felt bored even once! But this garbage? I won't play it! No one would!"
"Em... what would you have us do then? We'll make the changes"
"Alright" Joss straightened up, all business. "Here's what we'd do, take notes!" and he went on discussing the matters with the creative and programming teams. Though he took over the project for the mere reason to one up Tae, but sitting there, watching the demo, and going through the game designs, he actually felt a passion for the job at hand, he found himself quite apt and well-versed with the technicalities unlike his father who was purely a businessman, Joss was a gaming fanatic and it showed in the way he took charge.
"Oh, I didn't think GM Wayar was this skilled!" GM Lee spoke, rather surprised. "He'd been keeping his talent hidden"
"I'm surprised myself here! Didn't think he had it in him! Ah, I'd lost all hope and was ready to groom Mook to take over" The chairman was beyond pleasantly surprised. Then he turned to the manager, looking around. "What about that thing we discussed?" he asked secretively and the man smirked.
"All done sir" GM Lee sneered as he scooted closer. "GM Lin was quite flexible though... it did considerably lighten our accounts"
"Ah, that doesn't matter as long as we get the desired results, A New Chinese Ghost Story would be the hottest game of the decade, the anticipation has already skyrocketed, and we need to get our name on it!" the chairman said, not minding spending the money. "So, it would surely hinder T.B.A.K's plan to develop the optimization tool?"
"Our informant said Darvid would only be able to get it done by the 15th of September but now, he doesn't have time as the date has been moved back by over two weeks" the GM informed. "It helped GM Lin had an upcoming surgery, so he managed to schedule it in a way that clashed with the president's schedule. Now, if they both want to be present for the demo, it needs to be pushed back to as early as the 1st of September otherwise the president would miss it as he has a late night flight that night to Korea, and if they keep it on the schedule, GM Lin, the person overseeing the project would not be present at the day and since he won't be back in the next couple of months, the project would be delayed so they have no choice" he sneered with the chairman joining in.
"Good job"
The GM nodded happily but then his face fell. "But sir, we won't have enough time to implement all the changes GM Wayar suggested"
The chairman blinked. He looked inside the meeting room, closely watching how passionately his son was working on every detail and he smirked. "Let him have his fun for now, he'd get his chance again. Besides, all these changes can be made later on, for now, our goal is to get the rights!"
"Sir!"
##
"Aaah! G.T! Are you really leaving me alone to go work with that stupid third brother?" A whining Bas threw himself at the tall man's back as soon as they left their seats in the meeting room and thanks to his stature, G.T. didn't stumble forward.
