Alexandra's look:
Cal's look:
3ABY, 13 years after they met
After finally being able to put her father to rest with the help of her brother, Luke, Alexandra watched the sky from one of the tree huts by the Ewoks. The music filled her ears but she kept her eyes trained on the sky, even though she desperately wanted to join the celebrations. Then she saw it — an old, worn-out S-161 "Stinger" Yacht.
Alexandra ran down and across the forest floor to where she saw it land. She arrived just as it depressurised and the ramp came down. Out stepped Cal, without his jacket and in abnormally plain trousers.
The pair stood there for a moment, staring at each other, in awe that they both survived after all this mess. Then they ran into each other's arms.
"You made it," Alexandra said through laughter and tears.
"We made it," Cal corrected in a similar state.
"We made it," Alexandra sighed, looking down at her stomach.
Cal looked puzzled for a moment before realising what Alexandra was talking about and picking her up and spinning her in the air, much like Anakin had done when he found out Padme was pregnant.
After settling down, Alexandra took him by the arm and dragged him to the celebration taking place in the centre of the Ewok village. Cal was in awe of those little guys but had little time to think about it before being dragged into the dance circle that had formed around the bonfire.
They danced until their feet started to give out with the others but as the sun started to rise again, now on a free galaxy, Cal and Alexandra headed back to the Mantis. There they found BD in low power mode, his way of 'sleeping'. They closed the ramp and turned on some gentle music, loud enough to hear but not loud enough to wake BD.
They gently swayed to the music while holding on to each other. It had been months since they even saw each other and even longer since they had a chance to be alone. The Rebellion had demanded all of their, and especially Alexandra's, attention in the last three years. Partially, of course, because now her brother and sister were involved and she was desperate to protect them as much as she could without compromising her position in the Empire.
Eventually, they felt they were much too tired to stay awake and headed to bed. They slept away the entire day and the next night and then woke up the day after.
Alexandra woke up first. Cal had his arms wrapped tightly around her waist and was still snoring like an idiot. Alexandra turned herself around and snuggled into his chest. They were in no rush for the first time in over twenty years.
