6BBY, three years after they met.

The Mantis was awkwardly perched on an asteroid near the Yavin system. The area was crawling with imperials and they had the Mantis running only essential life support. Not even BD-1 was on.

Essential life support only meant it was cold. Very, very cold. Both Alexandra and Cal were wearing their thicker robes, but it still wasn't enough. They both sat shivering on the couch. This was going to be a long afternoon...

"You know the imps best," Cal whispered. "How much longer do you think they will spend looking for us?"

"We, or rather you, are the Empire's public enemy number one, so, for some time longer. Probably won't leave the area until sometime in the evening," Alexandra answered, barely keeping the shiver out of her voice.

"Do you know who is after us this time?" Cal asked, more to keep the conversation going than out of genuine curiosity.

"Tarkin, I believe."

They both started to move a little closer until they were shoulder to shoulder. Cal summoned a blanket from the sleeping pods in the back and wrapped it around them. They had been together for three years now, after reuniting on Coruscant when Cal killed that senator.

Alexandra snuggled into his side as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

This was going to be one long and cold afternoon...

Late in the evening, Alexandra woke up with a start. Cal had his arms wrapped around her waist as they cuddled in their bed. She couldn't remember moving, but it happened at some point. They were now buried under three blankets and still in their warmest robes.

Alexandra got out of bed slowly and stole one of the blankets as she made her way through the ship and towards the cockpit. It was darker and colder than earlier and it made the ship almost seem ghostly. She couldn't hear the TIEs anymore, but that did not mean it was safe. As she looked over the scanners she saw that the Empire had moved on and gone towards Yavin. She turned the ship and BD back on and told BD to get them out of here, before returning into the warm embrace of Cal.

This would be their first night sleeping peacefully all the way through for some months.
