October 2nd, and Regina had arranged a cozy afternoon for the two of you. Fall was Regina's favorite season, and it had grown on you as well after having spent the last three falls with her. She always cherished every bit of it, and you doing it with her made it even more special for her.

"I've bought pumpkins and your favorite cinnamon buns from the baker" she said all excited as she got all of her tools for the pumpkin carving that she kept in her shelves.
You smiled, admiring how the fall made your girlfriend glow to the fullest.

It wasn't before she handed you a carving tool she realized the big grin on your face and she frowned, looking at you confused.

"What's up?" She asked.

You chuckled, shaking your head. "Just adorable how excited you are for fall"

Regina blushed before getting a tool herself.

"I already cut the top off, we just have to empty it from all the meat and seeds" she said as she was already in the middle of dumping all the insides of the pumpkin into the bowl next to the two of you.

Your gaze travelled from your girlfriend to the window. The weather was in most people's eyes bad, but in Regina's it was perfect. It was foggy, leaves were falling from the trees and the wind was getting cold. You had to admit that you enjoyed it as well. The late dark nights that you spent at Regina's house over a cup of hot cocoa, and the afternoon walks in the cold wrapped up in scarfs and coats, were something you loved.

You kept on emptying your pumpkin until there was nothing left, Regina immediately sorting the pumpkin seeds from the meat.

She then walked behind you, wrapping her arms around you as she quietly watched you carving your pumpkin. Her chin was resting on your shoulder, and you couldn't help but get butterflies in your stomach. Her presence still managed to make you nervous from time to time, and you kinda loved it.

"Do you need help?" She asked, her hot breath making goosebumps appear on your skin. You nodded and her hands moved from your waist to your hands, helping you cut out triangles that represented the pumpkins eyes.

You still chose the classic cut out style while Regina had tried to convince you to try something else, but it never turned out good when you did.

Her warm hands on top of yours made you weak in the knees, and her head resting on your shoulder had you blushing.

"Like that my love" she said when the two of you together had succeeded to cut out one of the eyes. You looked over your shoulder to get greeted with her big glowing eyes, and beautiful white smile before you leaned over to kiss her.

This was exactly what made life worth living. Moments like these with Regina.

Half an hour went by and you were done with your pumpkin, looking at it proudly before glancing over at Regina who was too concentrated to notice you. Her beautiful features made your heart skip a beat. Her narrowed and focused eyes, her nose that scrunched up here and there, and her mouth that was slightly open because of her concentration.

You smiled for yourself before walking over to see hers, noticing she was making a cat on hers. Your eyes widened in impression as you saw how complicated that looked.

"It's beautiful my angel" you told her, and it wasn't before that Regina noticed you had sneaked up on her.

"Thank you" she said, continuing carving it out.

Eventually it ended up in you sitting on the kitchen island next to her pumpkin, while she kept on carving it for hours. The two of you shared hot cocoa and roasted pumpkin seeds, chitchatting about everything and nothing.

"You know I love spending time with you right?" You asked when you had jumped down from the kitchen island, Regina turning back to face you after having placed her pumpkin on the other tabletop.

She sighed, looking at you with those mesmerizing brown eyes, and her glamorous smile that you always seemed to copy when it was flashed in your direction.

"Mhmm" she answered, placing her hands on your sides as she leaned in to kiss your lonely lips.

"I love spending time with you as well" she replied when pulling away, her face much closer now than before. You giggled before leaning in again, your arms snaking around her neck as she lifted you up onto the table top again.

When your lips parted, she looked up at you while you looked down at her.

"You're so beautiful y/n" she said as she was studying your soft features closely making you blush. She placed her hands on your knees before parting your legs, Regina stepping closer to stand In between them.

You smiled like an idiot, knowing that no one other than the two of you knew how your relationship really was. All the precious moments like this one that you shared together, was only known and remembered by you and no one else.

"Wanna go put up our pumpkins?" She asked, to which you nodded. She helped you getting down, the two of you carrying a pumpkin each. You walked in front of her, opening the door for her, before she placed down her pumpkin.

You sat yours down as well, right at the door mat, before you lit the candles inside them. It was starting to get a little dark and you were therefore able to see how the light shone through the carved out cat and face.

You smiled, Regina wrapping an arm around you as you both stood there looking at what you had created.

"Perfect" Regina said, and you knew that she was happy which made you happy.

"That was this years pumpkin carving"

You grinned, turning your head to look up at her "I'm already looking forward to next year" you said, and your girlfriend flashed a smile at you before kissing your nose.

"Me too precious"
