Days and weeks went by and Elsa had taken out her calendar where she had circled the date of Fall Fest and crossed over the days as they passed.

She had hoped that her friend would have time to visit her before their promised visit to the festival. The night falls kept coming earlier each day but still there was no sight of him. Little did she know that her friend had been busy losing Pitches followers from his trails.

Jack arrived at Arendelle's Dukedom a week before the festival, wounded and tired so he retired in the upstairs of an abandoned hay stock. He fed from small critters and was recovering from his fall to Pitch's trap. Also he tried not to draw unwanted attention to Elsa's house and pull the girl to danger.

Again he managed to catch a rat and drink blood from it. The taste was bitter and unpleasant but he rather fed on it than on humans.

He heard a whoosh and heard stomping. Quickly he threw the dead rat the sounds direction and glanced towards the same shadowed corner. He saw how a big figure jumped out from darkness to the moons light and dropped down a sack.

"Jack, you look paler than usual," he spoke and laughed, "also it is not nice to throw rats at people."

"Yeah, stuffing people inside sacks and tossing them down to magic portals is some crooked type of family love," Jack mumbled and looked away.

It was North, the person who first got him to join the family of Guardians, a vampire clan that joined forces to defeat Pitch Black. He rubbed his white long beard as he came to sit next to Jack, in the pile of hay. He was way taller than Jack and more muscular in body type.

"We sensed that you got into trouble. You should have called out to us, " North sighed and kept searching for something from his red coat's pocket.

"And pull you guys into the ambush? I think not," Jack frowned and lifted the collar of his jacket up.

"Ah, at least have a drink of this," North chuckled and pulled out a vial filled with red thick liquid. He popped the vial open and took it close to Jacks nose.

Jack's nose curled up as he smelled the metallic scent. He pushed The bottle away and snatched the cork from Norths hand and closed the bottle.

"That's human blood," Jack growled and gave him a glare.

"Yes,yes…from willing humans who are still alive and well. You need it to heal quicker..feeding from critters and animals is much slower," North hummed and tried to offer the vial again.

Jack shook his head, "no. I can't and I plan to take some time off from the hunt of Pitch".

"It's the human child? That's why you fell right into the trap?" North's voice was suddenly more aggressive which made Jack flinch and glance at him.

Jack was still quiet so North spoke again.

"Is she your prey? Tooth told me about her. I didn't think that you would play with your food and fast before that." North huffed and stood up in front of Jack, crossing his arms and looking down at him.

Jack felt angry as he jumped up and yelled at his mentor. "She is not food! She is my friend!"

"Then she will die someday as you keep on living as a beast. Or do you plan on doing the most horrific action and turn her to be like you?" North raised his brow.

Jack felt furious, "no! I would never do that! I will make sure that she lives a full and happy life as a human!"

"What if you fall for her?"
