TOM RIDDLE'S POV
Accompanied by Y/N, I decided to venture to Diagon Alley for a specific purpose, a purpose I had kept to myself until now. We had a pleasant lunch together before making our way to the bustling wizarding shopping district. As we arrived, I proposed that we explore other shops before heading to the one I had in mind, which seemed to intrigue Y/N.
She opted to visit Ollivanders, the renowned wand shop, a choice that caught me off guard. I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in curiosity.
"Is there a flaw in your wand that compels you to seek a replacement? Or might there be another motive driving your visit to that place?" I inquired.
Y/N simply smiled and replied, "You'll know once we meet Ollivander."
We entered the shop, and Y/N greeted Mr. Ollivander politely.
She explained that her wand, crafted from Rowan wood with a phoenix feather core, had not been serving her well lately. It appeared as though the wand had chosen to disobey her, a puzzling occurrence considering the wand's core was typically associated with those who upheld values of kindness and goodness. Thus, the wand's resistance could indicate a change of heart in its owner.
She handed her wand to Ollivander.
As Ollivander examined the wands, he began to inquire about the unusual occurrence.
"It's still in good condition, though," Ollivander commented.
"But it refused to obey me, therefore it is broken," she replied.
"If I may inquire, what led to this remarkable change of heart? It is quite unusual for a wand, especially one crafted from Rowan wood, to reject its owner. Rowan wands are renowned for their strong affinity for the pure-hearted and their innate protective nature. Legend has it that no dark witch or wizard has ever successfully wielded a Rowan wand, given its staunch opposition to dark magic. Paired with a phoenix feather core, these wands can be particularly challenging to tame, especially when the wielder's moral beliefs align against the use of dark magic. I wonder, have you perhaps strayed to the darker side of magic?"
I watched intently, my eyes widening as I awaited Y/N's response. Had she truly shifted her moral compass so drastically in such a short time? It was a perplexing notion.
Y/N replied, "Not quite, yet. I'm just doing some research about dark magic for the sake of getting to know how it works, and it seems my wand hates the idea of it so much."
Ollivander seemed satisfied with her answer, though he still appeared intrigued. "Might I inquire about your present state of mind? Understanding your thoughts will enable me to assist you in discovering the ideal wand match tailored specifically to your needs," he suggested.
Y/N paused for a moment, her gaze briefly meeting mine. She then spoke, her words carrying a sense of determination and dedication. "Something that could serve me with my journey that I didn't intend to walk on, but in the end, I am still on the path because of the person I love, and willing to give my all to be with them."
Ollivander's eyes widened as he seemed to grasp the depth of Y/N's words.
I couldn't help but adore her very words.
