AUTHOR'S NOTE:
pLeAsE vOte !!!/hj. um, imo I made their relationship too sweet for the typical Tom Riddle we know, right? yeah idk if I should rewrite, but then the story already progressed very much agagagaga. Anyway, do let me know what kind of scene you all want me to write in this story-

Y/N'S POV

As the weeks passed, I couldn't help but notice a shift in Tom's behaviour. He had become increasingly busy with his school duties, which I understood to some extent, given his position as a prefect and his dedication to his studies. However, there was something more troubling that weighed on my mind.

Tom had been keeping secrets from me, and it was becoming painfully apparent. We had never explicitly labelled our relationship, but we had shared moments of intimacy and connection that made me believe we were more than just friends. Yet, lately, it seemed like he was avoiding me, finding excuses not to meet or spend time together.

I missed our conversations, the stolen moments when we would share our thoughts and dreams. But now, he was always preoccupied, his mind seemingly consumed by something else. Whenever I asked him about it, he would deflect or reassure me that he was simply dealing with the pressures of his responsibilities.

One evening, as I sat alone in the common room, my worry got the best of me. I knew I couldn't keep ignoring the signs, the growing distance between us. It was time to confront Tom and find out what was truly going on.

I made my way to his dormitory, my heart pounding with a mix of anticipation and anxiety. I knocked softly on his door, and when he opened it, he seemed surprised to see me.

"Y/N," he greeted me, a hint of confusion in his eyes.

"Tom, we need to talk," I said firmly, stepping into his room and closing the door behind me.

He nodded, his expression serious, and motioned for me to sit on his bed. As I took a seat, I couldn't help but notice how his room felt colder and more distant than it used to.

"Tom, I've noticed that things have changed between us," I began, trying to choose my words carefully. "You've been avoiding me, keeping secrets. It's been making me worry, and I don't want whatever we have to fall apart."

He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Y/N, it's not that I want to keep things from you. It's just... complicated. I have responsibilities, and there are things I can't share with you right now."

His vague response only fueled my frustration. "Complicated how? Tom, we've been through so much together, and I thought we could trust each other."

He looked torn, his eyes searching mine for understanding. "I do trust you, Y/N. It's just that... I'm involved in something that could be dangerous, and I don't want you to get hurt. I thought keeping my distance would protect you."

His words left me torn between gratitude for his concern and frustration at being kept in the dark. "Tom, I can handle myself. But I need honesty, not secrecy. If we're in this together, then we should face whatever challenges come our way together."

Tom's admission had opened a floodgate of emotions within me. While I appreciated his concern for my safety, his secrecy and attempts to protect me felt suffocating. It was as if he didn't trust me enough to handle the truth, and that stung.

"Tom, I understand that you want to protect me, but keeping secrets and pushing me away isn't the way to do it. We're supposed to be a team, and that means sharing our burdens."
