Moving to a new country at a young age is hard. The transition can take a huge toll mentally and then you have to adapt to a new culture, possibly a new language. As exciting as starting a new chapter in life is, it's also very lonely and scary. At least it was for me when I moved from Canada to Spain at the age of 18, but then I met Claudia, and she made it feel like home.

"You have my shirt, right?" my girlfriend asks as we talk on the phone a few hours before the Champions League final.

"Yes, Claud, I'm wearing it."

"And you have your ticket?"

"In my bag, with my suite pass. You need to focus on you right now, mamita."

"I want you to have a good time, Ky."

"I always have a good time at your games. I'm living my best WAG life."

"I hope we win."

"You will. Just look at the year you've had. Wolfsburg better watch out."

She laughs, and I can picture how cute her dimples look right now.

I hear another voice. "Is that Kya? Let me talk to her. Hi, bestie!"

"Hola, Patricia. You ready for today?" I greet the Spanish midfielder.

"I have a really good feeling about today. We're bringing that trophy home."

"I have no doubt."

"Are you coming to the game?"

"What kind of question is that? I never miss a Barca game, not in the last three years at least. Claudia didn't give me my ticket until the day before you left because she thought I'd lose it."

"Because you would've! You lose your keys every other day," I hear her argue.

"She doesn't trust me, I swear."

"Can I have my phone back, please?"

"No, I'm talking to my friend," Patri says.

"She's my girlfriend!"

"And you see her all the time. Kya wants to talk to me right now, not you."

"Yeah, Claud, I'm talking to my friend," I giggle.

"She's pouting."

"Take a picture."

"Hey!" Claudia whines.

"Okay, I think we've been enough. Can you give me back to her, please? I promise I'll talk to you after the game."

"Alright, Kya. Enjoy the game."

"You are so mean to me, cariño," Claudia sighs. (Honey)

"Only because I love you, mi vida." (My life)

"That is not an excuse to be a bully."

"I am not a bully. If anything, you're the bully."

"Me?"

"You said I always lose things."

"That's the truth, you do."

"Whatever, Claud."

"This is a silly argument."

"Must be because we miss each other. I feel like I haven't seen you in months."

"It's only been a week, cariño."

"That's too long."

"After today's game, we get to spend the next several months together, uninterrupted," she cheers.
