Fine? (Chanbaek short story)

Chapter 5-Together

"There you are...my little smurf.." Chanyeol said to himself as he found a familiar brunet figure crouching on a bench.

"Gosh...I have been looking through so many places and there you are..." Chanyeol continued mumbling as he got closer to Baekhyun.

"Hey...stop crying. You know I don't like it when people cry." A familiar deep voice made Baekhyun alert after crying for at least 30 minutes on a bench in a park near Chanyeol's apartment.

That was also the place where they always hang out back then when they were still together.

"Oh my god, Chanyeol, it's shooting stars!! Let's make a wish!" Baekhyun exclaimed like a little kid who saw candy.

"Haha still such a kid, Baek." Chanyeol teased as he watched Baekhyun from the side, admiring him.

"Shut up and hurry wish, before it is all gone!!" Baekhyun unclasped his hands and used one of it to hit Chanyeol on the head and went back to wishing.

"Fine, fine. Whatever you say...okay?" Chanyeol said and immediately wished.

Baekhyun was wishing, "Hope I can always be with Chanyeol and being healthy."

Coincidentally, Chanyeol also wished, "May Baekhyun and I last long and live long."

But Chanyeol was faster in finishing his wish so as soon as Baekhyun finished wishing and opened his eyes, Chanyeol pecked his lips and ran away, knowing how Baekhyun hate light pecks, especially when he is unaware.

"You little shit!! Stop right there!!" Baekhyun shouted.

"You calling me little?? That's a bit of an irony there, isn't it?" Chanyeol commented and laughed as he continued running away from Baekhyun.

And they just continued chasing each other till they were both tired.

After Baekhyun reminisce the beautiful memories and was brought back by a voice he knew all too well. He still looked up and after seeing who was it, it just made Baekhyun cry even harder. How could he not? He just saw the person who is the reason of him crying so badly right now and he was reminded of all of his heart aches once again.

Seeing things aren't getting any better since there wasn't any response from Baekhyun other than crying harder, Chanyeol continuid, "Yahhh...why are you crying? You are finally back in Korea. We can finally be back together and yet you are still crying? You know how much I have been longing for you over these two years?"

By this time, Chanyeol's heart was actually hammering wildly against his ribcage as he wasn't sure if Baekhyun would want to get back together with him but he just wanted to give it a shot.

Baekhyun got shocked by Chanyeol's words..."back together"

After a few minutes of processing, Baekhyun finally spoke, "B--back together?"

Chanyeol then replied nervously, thinking that Baekhyun might reject him,"Yea! Back together. You still love me don't you, so why not?" Please don't say no. Please don't say no. Please don't say no. You wouldn't be crying like this if you don't love me anymore.. Chanyeol was practically chanting in his head.

"Wh--what ab--about Kyungsoo then?" Baekhyun questioned.

"Oh so you were crying over that? Nah..don't worry...that was a mistake. Kyungsoo and I got really close after you left and yes he was not the first I um...kissed but well...that was partly because we were both heart broken till some extent and we were just drinking before that...so ya I know it's not a good reason but we were half drunk so..." Chanyeol trailed, trying to gauge Baekhyun's reaction which was just nodding.

So Chanyeol continued, "and well yea I became a jerk after you left me. I tried so hard to forget you...but I just couldn't. No matter how hard I tried. And don't worry about Kyungsoo, he knows. He has been there all along watching me be a jerk. He tried to give me advice but I didn't listen to him and recently, he's also trying to forget his problem with Kai. That's why. But oh Kyungsoo told me that they patched up and he was sorry for acting that way even though he knew both our feelings and your real reason for leaving."

Yes. Chanyeol has been flirting with many people ever since Baekhyun left him broken that day. Kyungsoo was always there for him and after drinking a bit, they both thought of how it may be good if they just let their real loved ones go for a moment and just enjoy each other's presence for a while.

After so long, Chanyeol still loves Baekhyun and Kyungsoo knows it very well even though Chanyeol tried to hide it. They just thought they needed a small break to have a little cool off for a moment.

Now that Kai and Kyungsoo patched up over their problem, Chanyeol and Baekhyun are the only ones left to solve.

Baekhyun seemed dumbfounded knowing all these, also feeling very hurt...that he actually hurt the love of his life so much..Chanyeol changed so much after he left him and he then knew he actually impacted Chanyeol a lot.

Baekhyun could only utter a "R--re--really?" out of his mouth.

"Yea. Really. So stop crying will you? Your eyes are so puffy now haha." Chanyeol teased Baekhyun.

"C'mon, let me wipe your tears now. Like how I used to. It hurts me seeing you cry like this...okay?" Chanyeol said while gently cleaning Baekhyun's tear stained face up, which causes Baekhyun to light up and finally smiled again.

"Oh my god. You look like a puffer fish right now." Chanyeol teased Baekhyun again, causing Baekhyun to snack Chanyeol's chest.

But Chanyeol hugged him later on, despite Baekhyun's countless protests, as he whispers "but you still look cute" into Baekhyun's ears, causing the smaller to smile shyly into Chanyeol's chest and his ears started to turn red.

Finally...after the long wait of 2 years... The two lovebirds thought as they enjoyed just simply the presence of the other.
