For those of you who haven't been following my account, hello. My name is Sawyer, and I am an anonymous storyteller here on Wattpad, though this isn't important. What is important is that I am going to publically talk about a certain relationship I just got out of after realizing the red flags through the rose-tinted glasses I wore for a year and nearly 9 months. The person I was with, let's call him Jay. Jay and I met through a former mutual friend at the time. I'm older than him by 10 months and it was the literal day we get out for Christmas break. Our former mutual, let's call them Korie, brought Jay to the table to sit with us. Instantly, we started talking and became friends. I got his username on this online chat we both use, but he said it would be a little bit since he got his phone taken because he was frustrated and rode off on a four-wheeler on the property. Not as bad as what comes up later.
We talked online a lot since. I was with someone at the time and on December 27th, I was forced to break up with them. Jay was there for me through that breakup and at the time it was appreciated. Jay acted like my best friend for a while, and it felt nice. On January 3rd, he and I were texting, and out of nowhere he said, "And by the way, you're hot". I went red reading that over and over. I had stupidly said that I had a crush on him and one thing led to another, and we got together. When I tell you my euphoria was high while with him before everything came to light, I mean it. He texted me every morning and even wished me a happy birthday three days later. He gave me one more reason to be happy, and I was on Cloud 9 for a while. Little did my naive tail know, this relationship was going to have its immense flaws.
