"Mommy!" Mi-Hae shouts as she comes bounding in my direction.
I smile and kneel down like I always do to hug her.
She grins happily and wraps her arms around my neck.
"I missed you."
I chuckle. "No you didn't. You had Ms.Kim with you all day."
She laugh and pulls away to look at me. "But she isn't my mommy!" She laughs and I swallow and stand up.
Her saying Jisoo isn't her mom while looking so much like her shouldn't hurt as much as it did.
We get in the car and Mi-Hae asks while I drive, "Mommy?"
"Yes my darling?"
"Can I go on a field trip?"
I laugh and nod. "Yes. You can go."
"Will you come with me?"
I raise an eyebrow. "But I'm not a kindergartener."
"Mommy!" She says frustrated.
I laugh warmly. "You want me to come as a chaperone right?"
"Yes! Will you please?! Pleeeease! We are going to the zoo! I want to show you the animals!"
"I see animals every day Mimi," I say as I take a left turn.
"But....But you get to spend the whole day with me!"
I give a fake heavy sigh. "Oh alright. When is it?"
"Next month! On 14!"
"Four-TEENTH."
"Yeah that's what I said."
I laugh again. No one can really make me so happy as Mi-Hae does....
Well....probably since Jisoo, if I have to be honest.
I park the car in the small parking lot on the side so that we can walk to our small one story house.
She jumps out and wears her backpack before holding my two fingers tightly.
"Mommy?"
"Yes my heart?"
"Are you coming with me or not?"
I look down at her big brown eyes and nod. "Yes. Of course. How could I say no to you?"
"You say no all the time."
"When?" I ask with a smile in my voice.
"No Jisoo," she quotes immediately and I feel heat go to my face.
"No Rosie. No Lisa. Rosie that's wrong. Lisa can't buy a house for her. No Jisoo.' Mommy who's Jisoo?"
I really need to remember to watch what I say around her.
I look straight again. "No one. Just...an old friend."
"Did you know Ms.Kim's name is Jisoo?! Is it her?!"
I chuckle to cover up my racing heart. "Um...no! It's not! It's....um...another Jisoo!"
"Awww! Really? I really like Ms.Kim."
I let go of her hand to unlock the house and we both step inside and take off our shoes before I ask, "Why? Is she nice to you?"
"Yeah! She shows me cool things!"
"Like what?"
"When we went to the beach, she put her hand in the water and turned her hand in the water and then and then a fish came!"
