"So....where is the trend?"
I groan and fall back into the couch and cover my face in my hands.
I hear Rosie chuckle. "Yeah...same."
There is no pattern...at all!
And nothing dips to an acidic pH of 2! The lowest is a 4 and even THAT WAS A MISCALCULATION!
It was a 5.5 in the end.
I pull my hands away and look at Rosie who is biting her lower lip in concentration and trying to read the graph all over again.
I sigh. "Rosie. Enough. Lisa is putting Mi-Hae to sleep and then we can eat dinner together. Just take a brain break. We've been doing this for 3 hours."
She nods and saves the work before shutting her computer down. She places it on the coffee table and kicks her legs up on top and rests her head on my shoulder.
I smile and loop my arm into hers.
"Tired Rosie?"
She nods and I laugh.
"Is Lisa wearing you out?"
"Jennie," she warns.
I laugh again and relax back, tracing her small butterfly tattoo on the inside of her wrist.
Lisa comes out of Mi-Hae's bedroom and raises an eyebrow at us.
"Are you cheating on me?"
Rosie frowns. "What?! No!"
Lisa sits on the arm chair of the couch and kisses my forehead. "I was talking to Jennie idiot."
Rosie gasps and pulls away from me. "You are the cheater then."
Lisa smirks. "But I thought Jennie was my girlfriend?"
Rosie rolls her eyes. "This is so unbalanced! Another I hate that Jisoo left!"
This time I raise an eyebrow at her. "That was one of the reasons you hate that she left?"
Rosie smiles and wraps an arm around my shoulder. "Of course it doesn't own up to breaking my best friend's heart but you have to understand that Jisoo and I were like" she crossed her fingers "this when we met 8 years ago."
I nod. "You haven't seen her since? Really?"
She nods and snuggles back into my side. "What happened Jennie?"
Lisa wraps an arm around me as well and rests her cheek on top of my head.
I chuckle sadly. "Wouldn't I like to know Rosie? It's the question I've been asking for the last 5 years."

When I wake up, I hear Mi-Hae crying and shouting, "MOMMY!"
I jump out of bed and I see her crouched against the wall with tear streaming down her face and the faucet in the sink is running.
I sit down in front of her and she tackles me into a hug.
"Mommy! It...it was a...a SNAKE!"
I blink and suddenly pull her to look at me. "What?!"
She nods. "The...the water! It turned into a SNAKE MOMMY!"
I sigh and shake my head, relief settling in on me.
"There was nothing there. It's okay Mimi. Let's go to sleep now. It's very early in the morning. Did you have to go to the bathroom? Is that why you're awake?"
"B-But...Mommy! The snake said—"
"Mi-Hae. Go to bed. It's late and I'm really tired. I have a long day tomorrow. We can talk about this later!"
