(Metal's POV)

The next morning, I woke up, feeling more well-rested than I've ever been. It was probably because when I was having the nightmare of my Metal Madness incident, Sonic came and calmed me down. I still couldn't understand why he was like this, but I will admit that it is better than being alone a lot. I walked out of my cottage, the sun's light feeling warm on my body, and I glanced over to see Sonic pacing in front of the stairs leading inside his cottage. What in the world was he thinking about? Sonic then glanced in my direction and approached me.

"You said that you haven't been organic for a very long time, right?" Sonic asked me.

"Yes," I replied, confused about why he was questioning me that.

"Do you perhaps have the same speed as I do?" Sonic questioned.

"I haven't had to use it much, but I do have it," I answered. "Why do you ask?" I questioned him.

"Because if Eggman's going to be after you and sending out his robots, you'll have to learn to control your speed and to fight back," Sonic replied, seeming a bit serious. "We'll go to an area where there's more room to train you, then start from there." He inquired.

"Alright," I replied to him.

With that said, Sonic and I both sped off, reaching the beach where there were a lot of palm trees and not that many people there. I glanced over at Sonic as he glanced around, probably deciding if this place would be good enough as I noticed him stepping in the water a little.

"This place looks good enough to train you," Sonic said while turning in my direction before he looked down to see where he was standing before he yelped and rushed out of the water.

"I take it that you're still scared of water," I said to Sonic.

"A little bit," Sonic replied, rubbing his neck while I noticed a small tint of pink on his cheeks.

"What are we going to do first?" I asked him.

"First of all, we'll see how well you can control your speed by racing around here for a couple of days," Sonic replied. "We'll do three laps each time, around about ten miles around the beach." He said to me.

"Sounds simple enough," I replied to him.

With that said, both Sonic and I went in a starting stance, a couple of seconds passing before we both sped off. Much to my embarrassment, I didn't do so well. I nearly tripped over my own feet and other things and fell over a few times, landing in the water, which thankfully didn't hurt, but I was all wet and tired by the time we did the final lap. The first two laps, I did terribly. For the last one, I did a lot better but knew that I needed some work.

"That was a bad start," I said, shaking the water off myself.

"It's okay, there's a first time for everything," Sonic said to me reassuringly.

I glanced at the sky, seeing that it was already dark out, making me guess that we raced around a lot longer than I thought. Then again, I did wake up a little late.

"We'll continue the training tomorrow morning," Sonic said before he and I headed back to the campsite.

Sonic and I woke up pretty early this morning and had finished racing by the time it became noon, and surprisingly, I did a lot better than yesterday and noticed Sonic stepping away from the water again after seeing he almost stepped in it, which almost made me chuckle in amusement, but I remained silent as not to slightly annoy him.

"Okay, since you know how to control your speed pretty good, we'll move on to spin-dashing," Sonic said to me. "All you got to do is curl up into a ball, then move fast to attack any enemies." He said before curling into a ball and spin dashed straight through a palm tree, cutting it in half as the top half of it fell as he uncurled himself afterward.
