"Ethan, talk to me buddy. Are you okay?" Benny panted out trying to check on his friend. I stood a block away enjoying the sight of Ethan and Benny lodged in a head lock by David Stachowski. But I seem to giggle a little to loudly because Ethan spots me by a tree and shouts desperately after me, "a little help here, miss hunter!"

I pretend to think on it for a second, "Daphne!" Benny shouts and I huff before picking up my pace towards them, "Dave, whatcha you doing there?" David was apart of my old friend group so I knew him well enough to know he wasn't going to cause Ethan and Benny any real trouble.

"Making friends." He simply said as he squeezed their heads harder. They both tried and failed to get out of his hold.

"Uh huh." Benny and Ethan looked up at me pleading with their eyes for help. "Okay, Dave. If you want to make friends, maybe you should try using your words instead of your strength." Dave turned his head to the side, a clear expression of confusion on his face. "In other words, let go of the dorks."

He finally got it and dropped Ethan and Benny, pushing them roughly in my direction. Benny screeched as they both cowered behind me. "All right, listen up, geeks. From now on, we're best buds. Got it?" Slowly their grip on me loosened, "yeah, yeah. We go it... wait, what?"

"Yeah! Awesome. Best buds forever. Yeah, totally cool." Benny turned from frightened to overly excited in a matter of seconds. "Headlocks are like jock hugs," he said while puffing out his chest proudly.

"See now wasn't that easier?" I asked. Dave looked down at me with a goofy grin before turning back to his new 'best buds.' "Awesome. See you around, bro one and bro two!" He stepped forward quickly giving both Ethan and Benny a sharp shoulder punch, his own way of showing friendship. They went stiff trying not to show just how much he had hurt them.

As Dave walked off I turned around to face them, "you're welcome, you big baby's." Ethan was still rubbing his sore shoulder. "That... was awesome."

"Which part? The love tap, or the part where I could taste his deodorant?" Benny smacked his lips together, "hm, glide stick extreme glacier ice, two thousand and... nine." I screwed my face up in disgust. "I meant the part where we're friends with David Sachowski. Our street cred just went through the roof!" He shot one finger into the air in victory.

"Remind me how many girls want to date you again? Oh yeah, that's right, still zero Mr. Street Cred." I put air quotes around 'street cred.' Bennys nose crinkled as he fake laughed at my comment, "I'll have you know that Margaret Fitz had a very big crush on the B train!" He pointed both his thumbs towards himself. "Yeah, when we were like eight," Ethan retorts and I can't help but laugh. "It still counts!"

Ethan shakes his head at Benny and then looks over my shoulder to where David is leaned against a wall with his friends while some girl flirts with him.
"Why would a guy like him want to friend up with us?"
