Taking Donnie's arm in his, Mikey began to narrate the journey to Donnie, Which was a welcomed distraction to the intensity of the situation they had left in the living room. Though it was difficult to point out every single obstacle, Mikey was doing the best he could and Donnie would definitely thank him for it... Later.

Now that the two younger Brothers (Yes Donnie is technically the younger twin) had left the room, no punches had to be pulled, or words left unsaid. The tension in the air was so thick Raph couched to try and clear it from his lungs, if not to simply break the deafening silence. Meanwhile, Leo sent dagger his way through a torturous stare and one that Raph wasn't so sure he deserved "Leo? Why're you lookin' at me like that?"

To say Leo was annoyed would be am understatement because no matter how much he tries to tell Raph that his anxious rambling never helps anyone, his brother in red does it anyway, Every.Single.Time. It never fails to stress out the poor victim to the incident and only make the situation worse. Yes, Leo was 'mildly' panicking before Raph had arrived but who wouldn't? his brother had just gone blind, a possibly irreversible change to Donnie's life and everyone else who knew him. so yeah it was scary, but that didn't warrant making Donnie stressed out and overstimulated about the whole ordeal, Raph just made things worse and it would've been better if he hadn't come home so soon.

He took a step. Took a breath. and voiced his opinion.

"Why would you do that?" His voice held restraint (for now) like he was trying to avoid shouting outright. Raph just looked confused and a little offended, which only grinded Leo's already thin temper. His brothers ignorance pissing him off even more, his voice grew like a match to gasoline "What do you mean? OH i don't know!, how about Every single time something happens, you spark up this lecture about safety and 'being careful'  that no one wants to hear! Your 'Annoyed Mom' rambling doesn't help!"

Raph stepped back in surprise at Leo's sudden burst of attitude, already switching to 'leader voice' which brings about the same amount of annoyance as his 'annoyed mom' voice.

"Leo, I was concerned for Donnie's health. We all are. so why are you so mad?"

"Im not angry because your scared, Heck Im scared, Mikey's Scared! He doesn't show it, but I know Donnie is more scared than any of us-"

Despite the concrete wall dividing them, Donnie could still hearLeo's argument; mainly because his aided escape had been slower than he hoped. Mikey also heard the painfully familiar yells of his brothers through the sewer pipes  as well. though it wasn't usually Leo who started the argument, their blue brother was typically on the receiving end of the lecture.

"Let- Let's just keep moving Dee... we'll get to your room soon"

"-he's blind Raph! what else could be so scary as losing your sight?!"

"Leo. Don't forget-" Raph suddenly grew serious as he walked up to Leo, towering towards him. He leaned in with his head and calmly untied his bandana, displaying the white scars still present around his right eye and the grey iris that stares into Leo's unsteady face.

Though, Raph's face wasn't angry, and he actually sounded rather calm, but the kinda calm that forces undivided attention without blinking.

"-I do know what its like, and I don't blame you for getting angry, but when something similar happens to Donnie, or any of you, I get scared... and in hindsight- yeah your right I shouldn't've gotten so worked up in front of him. but I only get scared and rambly because it's happened before. I never want it to happen to any of us again."

After that, he took a breath, stepped back and looped the red fabric around his head and tied it in his usual long tails. At this point Leo was still slightly shocked about the way Raph took control of the situation, displaying past scars never brought up good memories.

He wasn't scared though, a little impressed if anything, it had been 4 months since the... incident- nope.. invasion-wait... krang?-no no no... since the event, but Leo wasn't able to show his healed injuries to anyone except Donnie yet.

Maybe that's why he was so controlling about the whole situation, during the few months recovery they all went through,  Leo and Donnie became the most inseparable pair. Splinter would often find the twins spending the night in each others room whether to ward off nightmares (as all of the boys have experienced them now) or for simple comfort in company. Leo would stay up talking to Donnie about his latest project while trying to convince him to go to bed, Donnie would stay up with Leo discussing comic book plots and trying to help him get to rest also.

It was a constant battle for sleep in this sewer. Once, just before Splinter went to bed he didn't find Donnie in his lab but instead, in Leo's room, the twin turtles were snuggled up together asleep. Both troubled turtles looked so calm and peaceful, Leo's cyan unicorn blanket laid over both of them.

That's why this affected Leo so much, he and Donnie were so close now that anything happening to his twin caused such a ripple in the water that he could switch to the rarely seen 'leader mode' in order to assure his brother's safety.
