A knock at the front door. Most don't think too much about it. Usually it's a conversation starter. If you're expecting someone such as a family member that knock at the door fills you with excitement. If you're not expecting someone, you're normally annoyed to find some sort of salesman at your door but this knock....no....it was more like banging. An earth shattering banging at the front door that startled Cole awake. He lived miles from anyone. No, this had to be some sort of threat. The banging sounded like the door was about to come down. Remembering that Hanzo was asleep on his shoulder, Cole cradled Hanzo's head up and placed it on a pillow before carefully getting out of bed and slipping some pants on. He heard the banging once again. He grabbed his belt that held his gun and knife on them and strapped it on before going downstairs. The banging was louder now that he wasn't upstairs and he peaked out the window cautiously. Cole felt his spine shiver when he saw who or what was outside. It looked like.....a pack of wolves. There were at least 10 of them all facing towards the entrance of his home. They weren't just any wolves. At first Cole wondered what a bunch of wolves were doing outside his house, but a second look sent his body nearly into shock. He realized that all the wolves were bigger than normal....like Hanzo. Cassidy could feel his breath getting shaky. There was a final knock at the door.
"The Shimada Clan." Cole whispered.

They were here. Panick started to creep down his throat as he swallowed hard. His hand shakily went to his gun. He promised Hanzo safety, but what could he do? Kindly ask them to leave? Cole thought that him and Hanzo were well hidden in these mountains, but it seems like it didn't take the wolves much time to find him. Cole up the stairs and his breath started to shake and gain speed. Another thundering knock shook Cole from the wall.

Can we run? He thought. No, it was too cold. There's nothing around for miles. Can we drive away? No. The wolves would catch up and the truck was out front right where the wolves were stationed.

Another knock rang out and Cole finally built up the courage to open the front door. His hand slowly grabbed the doorknob. His other hand still hovering over his gun. The wind finally blowing the door all the way open. The cold air flying through his hair. He tensed up as the cold covered his naked chest. Cole's eyes widened at the sight. A large dark wolf sat up straight in front of the door looking down at Cassidy. Cole looked slightly upward and met the wolfs scowl. It seemed annoyed. It suddenly opened its mouth.
"Human." It said in a deep voice. "We are searching for one of our kind."

They didn't know Hanz was here. Cassidy thought. Maybe he couldn't play it off.

"Y-You're a talking wolf?!" Cole said trying to play his fear off. "H-ow....is that....possible?!"

"One of my spies confirmed seeing this missing wolf around this area. We have reason to believe the wolf is in hiding." The large wolf continued sounding formal.

Cole still tried to play it off.

"I must be dreaming. Wolves can't talk." Cole said forcing out a laugh.

He almost regretted saying that. He feared that the wolf might get offended by that statement, but still the wolf looked annoyed and impatient.

I don't think he's buying it.

"Human, we know Hanzo Shimada is hiding here. Give him to us and we will spare you." The wolf said rolling its large yellow eyes.

Cole let out a short gasp. The hand over his gun was shaking.

They fucking knew. This whole time. How?
Suddenly Cole felt something touch his back. It was warm and comforting. He quickly turned to see Hanzo placing a gentle hand on his shoulder, but when he looked down he saw Hanzo's sad expression staring back at him. His eyes welled up with tears and he could swear he saw Hanzo grinning a bit.

"H-Hanz?"

Hanzo moved his hand to Cole's chest.

"It was worth a shot, Cowboy." Hanzo managed to whisper. His voice was shaking.
Cole could see he was scared, but he knew what was happening. There wasn't anything they could do to stop it. Hiding didn't work and Hanzo was not about to let Cassidy risk his life for him any longer. He couldn't take his eyes off Hanzo. Shaky breaths started to come out of his throat.

"H-Hanz....you can't- There gonna....torture you!"

Hanzo leaned in and held Cole's head in his hands. A tear rolled down his cheek a she placed is forehead to Cole's.

"They'll do far worse to you if you don't..let..me..go."

There had to be another way. Cole thought. But there wasn't. There was nothing he could do against these wolves, but he could try...

"I'm sorry Hanz.."

Cole quickly drew his gun. The large wolf growled and jumped at Cole with an open jaw. He landed a bite over Coles shoulder. He was stunned. As large teeth began to sink into Cole's flesh he lost control over rhis body and sank to the ground. He blacked out and the only thing ringing in his ears was Hanzo's dreadful screaming.
