Dance the night away

The crescent moon hung in the sky like a sly grin, lighting up the streets of L.A in a blanket of silvery light. As Avdol left the barbershop, he couldn't help but grin at the feeling of his new hair. He was complete! He finally felt like a person again, not just a dried out husk of a man. Polnareff walked alongside him, and the mummy's joy was so bright that he too grinned widely. He knew that Avdol had been through the mill in life, as the mummy had told him that in Egypt. He'd never said what exactly happened, though- just as how Polnareff had left out the detail of his sister being killed. It was simply too painful to talk about, so he didn't, and that was it.

"Polnareff? Polnareff!" A voice from behind him cried. The vampire turned, and he gave a happy cheer at the sight of the two men before him.
"Bruno! Leone!"
"Who are they?" Avdol asked.
"Just some old monster friends. Bruno, Leone, I'd like you to meet Avdol." Jean said, gesturing for the two of them to introduce themselves. Bruno was thin, with black hair in a bob, large, dark eyes, and a white suit patterned with black speckles. At least that was what humans saw- his true monster form looked similar, yet with two extra arms, fluffy white antenna, white wings that matched his suit, and a little collar of white fuzz around his neck, like a necklace. The mothman held the hand of his boyfriend, who was a silver-haired young goth in a dark purple coat that matched his lipstick. Only other monsters could see the shroud he wore around his shoulders though, as is traditional for banshees.

"So, what are you doing out here, daywalker?" Polnareff asked, patting Leone on the back. He would've done the same for Bruno, but he didn't want to knock the delicate dust off of his wings.
"We're on vacation! Napoli is still lovely, as is our safehouse in Sorrento, but we just wanted a change of scenery." Bruno said with a twitch of his antenna.
"And we also wanted to get away from Mista, he really stinks this time of year." Abbacchio grimaced.
"Abba!"
"What? It's true! Do fauns not wash this time of year or something?"
Bruno and Leone shared a house with a faun (who apparently smelled bad), a harpy who was incredibly bad at maths, and a nereid from a toxic lake. Whereas Polnareff and his friends had to stay in the comforting dark of the Pacific Northwest- Joseph could go out on the sunlight but people always stared at his general hairiness when he did- Bruno's gang all had the benefit of being daywalkers, who didn't fear the sun. Because of this, they had a large, luxury villa in Sorrento, where the local humans thought they were a group of oddball fashionistas, due to their incredible dress sense.

As the two monsters greeted the mummy, Polnareff's eyes fell onto a welcome sight. A nightclub on the side of the road had a queue forming outside, and the sign above the door was displaying neon rainbow lights, illuminating the club's name of "Rainbow Road."
"Guys, let's go in! There's no nightlife in Windknight's Lot at all, and I need me a party!" Polnareff smiled, walking towards the bar entrance.
"Hoping to pick up some guys?" Bruno asked with a sly grin.
"Actually..." Polnareff's mind went to that of a certain mummy.
"I just wanna party!" He concluded.
"What is this place?" Avdol wondered, looking up at the sign.
"It's a gay club. It's where men who like men- such as me, Bruno and Leone- go to party with each other." Polnareff replied. Avdol looked at him with absolute surprise at this sentence.
"You like men? So do I!"
"Brilliant, because I wasn't planning on leaving you outside." Polnareff laughed as he paid for entrance.

Inside the club, the atmosphere was electric. Lights shone down on the dozens of patrons, and loud music thumped from the speakers, surrounding the four monsters in a comforting din of sound. As a blacklight passed overhead, Polnareff glowed. Vampires glowed under a blacklight, but all the humans in the club either didn't care, didn't notice, or thought it was simply some kind of makeup.
"Abba, let's dance!" Bruno grinned, dragging his boyfriend onto the dance floor. Bruno's wings were dappled with patches of light from the many, many neon lights, and as the two monsters swirled around each other, identical grins decorated their faces. Polnareff looked on at them with an almost painful pang of want. Oh, the things he'd do to have a relationship like that of Bruno and Abbacchio! Without the fear that his loved one would shrivel up and die, whereas he stayed forever young. If only his perfect lover could just walk up to him right now...

"Want a drink?"
Polnareff turned to see Avdol behind him.
"Sure, I'll have a Bloody Mary." He smiled, handing him the cash for his cocktail. Avdol ordered him one, and got a soda water for himself. Without a lover, alcohol was just too pungent for the mummy to consume. So he played the role of the sober friend, but that suited him just fine. Drunks were uncoordinated, and he couldn't rick being tangled up with his bandages. Polnareff took a sip from his drink, and gave a soft hum of pleasure.
"Just the right amount of Tabasco, how I like it."
Avdol sipped his water, then looked over at Polnareff.
"Jean-Pierre, do you want to dance?"
"Avdol? You've just made my night!"
The vampire downed his drink, and took Avdol's hand. The two of them headed to the middle of the light up dance floor. There, Polnareff moved and swayed like the other patrons of the club, his silver hair bobbing to the rhythm. Avdol copied his movements, their eyes meeting as they danced the night away.
"I never want this night to end, Jean!" Avdol smiled, taking his hand. Polnareff looked down at where they made contact, and gave a happy grin.
"Me too, Momo. Me too."
