Off The Record

Chapter 2

(December Twenty Fifth Two thousand Four Five AM)
Obito POV

The younger version of obito arrives at his grandfather's home after a long night shift at a hospital he puts his keys in a bowl he flops on the couch and is about to pass out but his grandfather madara wakes him up by saying his name which scared the spiky haired uchiha because of sleep deprivation he falls off the couch and hits his head on the floor and he yells at his grandpa for scaring him madara laughs and he tells his grandson to get up because he wants to take him somewhere obito sighs and asks if he can at least take a shower before his grandfather has him help him with some yakuza bs madara nods his head and obito gets off the floor and to one of the many showers that are in the house he switches it to cold water so he can wake up.

Obito finishes his shower he gets out and immediately dries himself off with a towel he sees on the toilet a pair of clothes that madara put out for him how he knows is because there is a note with his hand writing on top of the clothes telling obito to get a better wardrobe he laughs and puts his towel down and changes into the sweat pants and hoodie the only outfit a young adult needs these days obito walks out the bathroom and sees it's five thirty.

We now skip forward in time to obito and madara in the back of a car and for some reason obito's granduncle izuna is with them with a suitcase on his lap obito looks at the time and it's five fifty five in the morning on Christmas before obito went to work the uchiha bloodline has already celebrated the festivities of the day Jesus Christ was born they had family over they ate drink and opened gifts obito got a lego death star set his personal favorite the car comes to a stop in front of a familiar house it's rin's house his girlfriend.

Obito: what are we doing at my girlfriend's we already celebrated Christmas together

Izuna: we know merry Christmas kiddo

Izuna hands obito the case the young man takes the case and he opens it to see a nine millimeter pistol with its mag next to it obito asks what is the meaning of this is but izuna and madara just tell him to load the gun obito does as he's told after obito put the magazine into the gun izuna tells his grandnephew to go into his girlfriends house and kill her.

Obito widens his eyes at what his granduncle just said he aims the gun at izuna and says to say that bullshit again and he'll put one in between his eyes izuna is unfazed by the threat and he just laughs and claps his hands because the granduncle knows obito will not pull the trigger and the young uchiha hates to admit but izuna is right madara calmly puts his hand on the barrel of the pistol and he aims it down so it's not pointing at his brother obito looks at his grandfather.

Madara: I know this request is absurd for you but this same thing happened to your father he couldn't go through with killing your mom and for that he was beaten to death in the streets like a dog

Obito: don't disrespect my dad gramps he was a good man with a plan to get out of this hell hole of a family business

Madara: foolishness obito might controls everything your father lacked strength without it he couldn't protect you or your mother he may have had a plan but nothing in this world ever goes as planned the longer you live the more you'll realize that the only things in this world are pain suffering and futility do you really want to end up like your father weak and vulnerable think of the death of your mother boy your father couldn't protect her what makes you think you can do what he could not to rin nohara?

Obito stays silent because of his grandfather's words madara puts his hand on obito's shoulder and tells him that he doesn't have to throw away his youthful life like his father he can still live a long life with all the money and power he could ever want this family business is all he needs he doesn't need to be imprisoned by the cage of marriage or love the car goes silent and obito walks out the vehicle.
