SEASON NINE, EPISODE ONE
If he had just gotten on that plane instead of his older brother to Bowie, Idaho, then this wouldn't be happening. He wouldn't be staring at his older brother's unresponsive body instead they'd be looking at his unresponsive body.
"I knew I'd find you in here," Derek Shepherd, head of Neurosurgery and Mark's best friend said when coming into Mark's hospital room, seeing James and Callie also in Mark's room, "I keep thinking if I say something big enough, or shocking enough, he'll just, open his eyes," Callie admitted as James hummed at that.
James had his hands stuffed into his white coat, "Honouring his wish," Derek said as James had caught the last of it, seeing Callie nod her head, "I know, if I just.." She leaned closer to his face, "Oh, god, it's so hot in here, I think I'm gonna take off my shirt,"
James eyes went down to his brother's non moving hand, "Oh, yeah, that's better, oh yeah, it's so much cooler with my boobs out—" Though Mark's eyes didn't even open as James instead of staying in the room, walked out.
"Do you think he's doing okay?"
Derek looked away from Mark's machine, "Who? James?.." he questioned as Callie nods her head, "His brother is dying, Callie and he thinks it's his fault," Derek shook his head, "So no, I don't think he's doing okay, but he has patients, kid patients that need him to be strong so he's putting on a exterior front," Derek admitted about the youngest Sloan.

James walked through the hallway towards the or board when seeing Meredith writing on it, "The intern appt, you got your guy?" He questioned when Richard and Chief of Surgery Owen Hunt came up behind him, "I have someone in mind," She admitted, "And you really want to do this today?"
"Especially today,"
Miranda Bailey came to them, "Grey, hey," She said when coming up to the group, "I need you to take my 3:00 lap chole," Miranda said as Meredith shook her head, "Oh, I can't I have the intern appy,"
Richard Webber smiled at that, "Grey, living up to your nickname," The ex Chief commented as Meredith turned around to look at him confused, "Nickname? I have a nickname?" Richard cleared his throat when she looked at him.
Meredith then moved her eyes to James who only looked at her, "They call you medusa.." Dr Bailey said with a smile, "The serpent-haired monster who turns folk to stone. Hey, this is not a bad thing, you want to be the attending with the scary nickname, it keeps your residents in line, it strikes fear in their hearts, take it from the nazi, it's good to be feared," Miranda explained as James looked at the women, "You retired the nazi, they call you something else now," The Sloan male stated to the women, "They do?"
James hummed when walking away from the group as Miranda then looked to Richard who also walked away knowing about the nickname.
