Saving Hailey

chapter 1

I was running so fast like I never ran before. My life was in danger and all I had to do was to run in that dark place. Unrecognised objects started appearing and I barely dodged any.

I was out of breath and lungs were dancing in my ribs. A half turn to my right, and I found the same guy running behind me.

He was tall form my perspective, about 6 feet. He had a long hair almost covering his eyes. His body was muscular built. He was a fast runner too, which means we had a counted number or steps separating us.

Fear was reciting in my heart and mind kept regularly asking for help, but no one was here to help.

The guys kept calling me.
"HAILEY WAIT", he shouted but I didn't listen to him. Or couldn't listen.

"HAILEY COME ON"
I increased my speed everytime his voice appear. It was husky deep voice that sent shivers through my spine as it enters my body.

"HAILEY"

"THAT'S ME, S.."

"WHAT THE F HAILEY. WE ARE LATE!", screamed Nachni through my ears deafning me.

"Late for what..", I answered coldly, half awake.

"School dumpo"
What a polite sister! I thought.

Nachni was my young sister that had a tongue long enough to cover a dead corpse like a mummy. She was opposite to me completely.
Short curly black hair with dark brown eyes. She was short compared to me and considerably fat. I was two years older than her but she still didn't learn her limits with me.

She left the room as I started wobbling over my king sized bed lazily. Moments later, my face high fived the cold wooden floor. Now I was fully awake.

I took a long shower and headed to the sink with a towel wrapped around me body to protect it from winter winds. I brushed my teeth and blow dried my hair. When I finished I looked at my reflection in the mirror keenly. I saw my mother in the mirror. It felt like I was her twin from how closely we looked alike.

Hot tears streamed down my face leave my skin on fire. I was leading a happy life till the day I witnessed my mother's death..

------1 week ago------
"Sorry.. we did our job but nothing worked..", said the Doctor with a bowed head.

"What do you mean by nothing worked ha? What do you mean?", I screamed uncontrollablely in the Doctors face.

"I'm sorry..",he said and left.

I was left alone in the middle of the hospital, heart broken and miserable. I never felt that pain before, not until this moment.

Nachni came as cold as ever trying to fake a sad expression. She tried to help me up by stretching her hand but I slapped it away.

"What do you want? Isn't it enough? You killed our mother and you want to kill me too? I hate you. And I will never forgive you for what you have done..", I snapped as soon as she tried to speak a word.

She shook her head and crooked a smile. "I will never regret what I have done evethought I didn't intend to do it", she replied turning her head and walking to the end of the hospital corridor.

Now I live with the guilt of mothers death, and Nachni was the reason. She..
